The nugget format is made for drinks where a softer, crunchable ice texture is part of the appeal. A clear window lets you see the stored ice at a glance, and the alerts help you know when the bin is full or the water needs attention. For a different approach, ice trays let you make ice in batches and store it separately, this unit instead produces nugget ice on the countertop and dispenses it when needed.

How to use it

Set the ice maker on the counter, add water to its pull-out tank, and use the touch panel to start ice making. No plumbing or complex installation is required. The removable tank also makes filling and cleaning straightforward, while the self-cleaning function provides a dedicated cleaning cycle. What helps make serving simpler? The built-in dispenser delivers ice with a touch, and the detachable tray offers another way to collect it.

Customer feedback often praises the ice and ease of operation, with some buyers also appreciating the production speed. Opinions are mixed on noise and reliability, so experiences vary. The manufacturer describes the unit as quiet, and the controls and alerts keep its main functions easy to access during everyday use.

Best use cases

Use the HZB-15DN when you want nugget ice for everyday cold drinks, casual gatherings, or a home bar without relying on a freezer tray routine. Its countertop format and listed RV use make it suitable for settings where a dedicated ice maker is useful, while the removable water tank supports filling at the machine. The viewing window is handy when serving guests: you can check the ice level before dispensing, then use the one-touch control for a quick serving.

Final verdict

This Antarctic Star model brings together nugget-style ice, one-touch dispensing, and a self-cleaning cycle in a countertop appliance. It suits people who value a ready supply of chewable ice for drinks and want simple controls for making and serving it at home, in an office, or in an RV.
