Adaman Dried Black Soldier Fly Larvae, 5 lb High-Calcium Chicken Feed

Scatter these dried black soldier fly larvae into a backyard flock’s daily feed or offer them by hand as a treat. Their naturally high calcium content makes them a useful supplement to consider for laying hens.

The 5 lb bag provides a supply of larvae for chickens, ducks, geese, and wild birds. The product is also listed for reptiles and other small animals.

Use them as a supplement, treat, or staple food according to your feeding routine. The larvae provide protein and calcium in a simple, recognizable form.

Highlights

Black soldier fly larvae offer protein, amino acids, and calcium, along with other nutrients. For laying hens, calcium is a relevant part of a feeding routine that supports eggshell health. The manufacturer states that these larvae have more protein and 85 times more calcium than dried mealworms, giving shoppers a concrete point of comparison when choosing between the two types of dried feed.

The larvae can be served on their own or mixed into existing feed, so they fit different backyard flock routines without requiring a separate preparation method. Buyers often report that chickens and ducks enjoy them, and some mention feeding them to wild birds. Feedback on how intact the larvae are and how large the package feels varies.

Care tips

Keep the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. The resealable zip-top packaging makes it practical to close the supply between feedings and helps maintain freshness during storage. Refrigeration is not needed.

How to use it

Offer the larvae by hand, sprinkle them into the regular feed, or serve them as a snack. For a flock with laying hens, use them as one part of the overall feeding routine rather than treating a supplement as a replacement for balanced daily feed. Their dried, ready-to-serve form suits backyard setups where a convenient protein-rich addition is useful.

The product is recommended for birds, ducks, reptiles, and small animals, the listed uses include nutritional supplement, treat, and staple food. Choose the serving approach that suits the animal and its established diet.
