MOLMO Non-Slip Desk Mat (80 x 40 cm) – Waterproof Leather Desk Pad in Pale Purple
Product description
What matters most
The MOLMO Non-Slip Desk Mat is a single‑sided desk protector designed to stay put on your workspace. It combines a suede underside for grip with a smooth PVC‑leather surface that resists scratches, heat, stains and spills. If you prioritise a larger working area and a low‑maintenance finish, this mat aims to strike a practical balance between protection and ease of use.
Technical details
Key facts drawn from the product description: a waterproof desk pad that dries quickly after cleaning and is easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. The surface is leather‑like, providing a smooth glide for a mouse and a stable base for laptops, keyboards, phones and a cup of coffee. The edge is trimable, and the range comes in multiple colours and five sizes to suit different desks and preferences.
What stands out
On paper, the combination of a suede underside and a waterproof PVC leather surface helps the mat stay in place while offering a durable top layer. Its ability to catch spills and be cleaned simply with a damp cloth makes it a sensible choice for busy desks, home offices or communal workspaces where durability and low maintenance matter.
How to use it
Place the mat on a clean, flat desk. The suede back grips the surface to reduce movement, so you can focus on work rather than adjusting the mat. It’s large enough to accommodate a laptop, mouse, keyboard, phone and a cup—useful if you’re working across multiple devices or occasionally writing by hand on the edge. If your setup changes, the trimable edge allows you to tailor the fit to your space.
Who it’s for
If you want a simple, unobtrusive desk protector that covers a sizeable area without adding clutter, this MOLMO mat could be a good fit. It’s particularly suitable for home offices, study nooks or light office use where a neat, consistent surface helps focus and reduces desk wear.
Potential drawbacks and when it may not be for you
No product is perfect for every setup. The suede underside, while great for grip, may feel less ideal on very smooth or highly polished desks where friction could still be a factor if the surface is unusually slippery. If you require a rigid boundary or special non‑slip features for extreme workloads or gaming, you might prefer a thickness or material that emphasises different tactile feedback. Also, while it’s described as trimable, exact cutting quality and how cleanly the edge holds up over time depend on use and care.
What to check before buying
- Confirm your desk dimensions align with 80 x 40 cm or choose from the other sizes offered in the collection.
- Consider the colour option (pale purple) to ensure it complements your space, colour consistency can vary with display settings.
- Think about cleaning habits: a quick wipe is enough, but repeated spills should be addressed promptly to preserve the surface appearance.
Practical use scenario
In a small home office, you can place the mat under your laptop and keyboard, leaving a little room for a coffee cup. The grip helps keep the keyboard in place while the surface provides a smooth glide for the mouse, reducing desk scratches and heat marks from prolonged device use.
Final decision
Should you buy it?
Worth considering if you want a broad, protective desk pad that’s easy to keep clean and helps prevent slipping. It suits users who value practicality and a tidy, cohesive workspace and don’t require a high‑end gaming surface or ultra‑thick pad.
