febi bilstein 38746 Brake Shoe Set with Additional Parts (Pack of Two)
Product description
What matters most
This is a brake shoe set from febi bilstein, sold as a pack of two with additional parts. On the surface, it’s pitched as matching Original Equipment Quality, which can be reassuring for maintainers who want a trusted OE-aligned fit. If you’re working to keep your braking system consistent with the vehicle’s original design, this set is positioned to deliver that alignment with a view to straightforward installation.

What stands out
On the page, the emphasis is on OE-compatible quality and a reasonable warranty period. The inclusion of extra parts could simplify a partial repair or refit scenario, particularly if your vehicle benefits from a complete or near-complete service kit. The warning about possible specialist equipment suggests this isn’t a DIY-friendly plug-and-play item for every brake system, which is worth noting if you’re weighing time and tool availability.
Usage tips
If you’re planning the replacement, verify whether your specific vehicle needs any special tools or procedures beyond standard brake shoe installation. Plan for a proper parking brake adjustment and be prepared for a potential need to re-check alignment after bedding-in. The 12,000-mile warranty is a helpful safety net against premature wear, but it won’t cover improper fitment or installation mistakes.
What to check before buying
- Confirm compatibility with your vehicle’s make, model, and year, since “matching Original Equipment Quality” doesn’t guarantee universal fit.
- Consider whether you have or can access the specialist fitting equipment that may be required for a proper installation.
- Factor in the potential need for additional hardware or adjustments after installation, even with a kit that includes extra parts.
What you may prefer to compare
If you’re undecided, weigh this set against other OE-style brake shoe options that emphasise easier installation or broader vehicle coverage. For some vehicles, a kit with fewer extra parts and clearer installation steps might save time, while others benefit from the OEM-quality assurance provided here. In any case, a cautious approach—checking exact fitment data and ensuring you can access the correct tools—helps prevent post-purchase surprises.
Final verdict
Worth considering if you prioritise Original Equipment quality and you have the means to accommodate any specialist tools that might be required. It may not be the best fit for a straightforward, tool-free swap, especially if your workshop lacks the required equipment. In short: solid option for OE-aligned maintenance when fitment is confirmed and you’re prepared for installation nuances.
