Calgon Hygiene Plus Washing Machine Cleaner & Limescale Remover, 65 Tablets

For households wanting regular washing machine care alongside each wash, Calgon Hygiene Plus tablets combine water softening with cleaning support.

They help tackle limescale, detergent residue, dirt, rust and odour-causing build-up inside the appliance.

The unscented pack contains 65 tablets, designed for use in every wash to help keep the machine cleaner and fresher.

Key points

These 4-in-1 tablets help protect the washing machine from limescale while reducing residue, dirt, rust and unpleasant odours. They are designed to start breaking down limescale from the beginning of the wash cycle, helping protect the drum, pipes, hoses, pump and heating element.

Water softening is part of the routine too. By helping reduce hard-water scale, the tablets support ongoing care for the appliance, while tackling detergent residue and malodours that can build up over repeated washes. This makes them a practical alternative to treating limescale and machine freshness as separate maintenance jobs: one tablet format brings these care benefits together with regular laundry.

Usage tips

Use the tablets as part of your regular washing routine, they are designed for use in every wash. Their role is to support machine care while helping reduce scale and residue, rather than to add fragrance to laundry: this Hygiene Plus pack is unscented. The 65-tablet format provides a ready supply for repeated use, so it can sit alongside your usual laundry products as an ongoing care step.

For example, when washing a regular load, using a tablet as directed for each wash helps address hard-water scale from the start of the cycle while also targeting dirt and residue within the machine. That routine can help keep the appliance cleaner and fresher between dedicated maintenance treatments.

Practical tips

Choose these tablets when you want machine care to form part of your normal wash routine, particularly if limescale, detergent residue or stale odours are concerns. Their combined focus on water softening and cleaning is distinct from a single-purpose limescale remover, while the unscented formula suits shoppers seeking machine-care benefits without added fragrance. The tablets also target several areas of the appliance, including the drum, pipes, hoses, pump and heating element.

Keep the pack available with your laundry essentials and use the tablets consistently as intended. The product is designed to help prevent build-up and support a cleaner-smelling machine wash after wash, it is not presented as a substitute for following the washing machine’s own care guidance.
