Product description

This self-adhesive PVC transition strip provides a neat edge between laminate, tile and other floor surfaces. It combines a flexible, scratch-resistant PVC finish with a simple stick-on installation, making it useful for domestic thresholds and room joins where a low-profile cover is needed.

Key features

The strip is made from soft, high-quality PVC that resists wear and light scratching while remaining safer underfoot than metal alternatives. At 1.2 m long, 5 cm wide and 3.5 mm thick it can be trimmed to length to suit doorways or joins. The product works well for floor-to-floor, tile-to-floor and wood-to-floor transitions and also serves as a subtle demarcation line between areas. Note that the adhesive backing performs best on clean, smooth surfaces and the strip may need reheating with a hairdryer below 20℃ according to the manufacturer.

Technical details

  • Name: 1.2M Laminate Flooring Threshold Transition Strip
  • Material: PVC
  • Size: 1.2m length
  • Width: 5cm
  • Thickness: 3.5mm

Usage tips

Clean and dry the floor thoroughly before applying the strip to ensure good adhesion, and cut to the required length with a utility knife. Press firmly along the full length when fitting, and use a weight for 1–2 hours if the strip has become slightly bent in transit to help it flatten. If the room temperature is low, gently warm the adhesive backing with a hairdryer for improved bonding. It’s a practical, low-effort way to hide gaps and protect exposed edges in everyday homes.

Care & maintenance

Wipe the strip with a damp cloth and mild cleaner to remove surface dirt, avoid abrasive pads to prevent scuffs. Over time the adhesive may weaken on uneven or heavily textured floors, so ensure the substrate is as level as possible before installation.
