vancasso Amber VC-AMBER-B-24-LDP Stoneware Dinner Plates, Set of 6, Blue
Product description
Some tables call for everyday plates that are easy to care for, others need dinnerware with enough character to feel at home when guests arrive. The vancasso Amber set brings both needs together with six blue stoneware plates and a kiln-reactive glaze that gives each surface subtle colour transitions and organic texture.
At 10.5in, each round plate is suited to serving dinner, while the distinctive finish adds visual interest to family meals and entertaining without relying on a busy pattern.
Getting the most from it
Use the plates for everyday meals, then bring them out for a shared dinner or a special occasion. Their solid pattern and blue reactive glaze give the table a considered look, while the stoneware construction keeps the design practical for regular use. The surface is designed to make food marks easier to clean: its dense glaze is described as about 30% smoother than standard ceramics, helping reduce the penetration of stains from foods such as coffee and sauces.
For straightforward care, the plates are dishwasher safe, and they can also be used in the microwave. That combination makes them useful when serving a meal straight from the microwave and when tidying up afterwards. The glaze is also described as chemically stable with acidic and alkaline foods, including ingredients such as lemon and vinegar.
Benefits
The Amber finish brings a subtle handmade feel to the table, with each plate’s kiln-reactive glaze creating organic texture and colour variation. This adds character while keeping to a solid design that can sit comfortably alongside different table settings. Choose them when you want dinnerware that works for routine meals but still feels presentable for hosting.
A water absorption rate of under 3% is another practical feature. The low-absorption stoneware is designed to reduce lingering food odours and moisture loss, so the plates are suited to serving a range of dishes without the surface readily taking on food residue. The glaze is lead-free and cadmium-free, as well as free from melamine and plastic.
Compared with choosing plates mainly for a decorative display, this set is built around serving and care as well as appearance. For a weeknight dinner, the six matching plates provide a coordinated place setting, for a gathering, the blue finish brings a clear accent to the table.
