Reolink Argus Eco Ultra + Solar Panel 4K Outdoor Security Camera

What matters most

At 19.1 x 7.5 x 7.5 centimetres, this white, plastic-bodied dome camera is designed for outdoor wall or ceiling mounting. Its 4K, 8MP recording and 125-degree viewing angle help cover a broad area, while colour night vision with spotlights brings more detail to dark scenes, with a stated night vision range of 10 metres.

The 6W solar panel and battery-powered, wire-free design suit locations where running a power cable would be awkward. The camera stays in standby and wakes when it detects motion, with person, pet, vehicle and general motion detection modes to help focus alerts on the activity that matters to you. Choose between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi according to the installation location.

Quick sizing guide

The camera’s listed dimensions make it easier to plan a position on an exterior wall or ceiling. For the solar panel, the adjustable 360-degree bracket and 4m cable offer flexibility when finding a spot with suitable sunlight exposure. The panel is supplied with the camera, along with an outdoor safety mount and mounting hardware, so you can plan the camera and charging position together.

For a front entrance, driveway or garden-facing wall, the 125-degree view gives a useful field of coverage, while person, vehicle and pet detection can help distinguish the types of movement you want to monitor. For footage at night, the spotlights support colour night vision rather than relying only on infrared viewing.

Practical tips

Use the Reolink app or client to control the camera and choose the detection modes that suit the area. Local motion-event recording to a microSD card supports later playback, including when Wi-Fi is disconnected, the listed feature information specifies support for cards up to 128GB. Storage is a practical choice if you want to review events without relying on a continuous live view.

When installing, position the solar panel where it can receive suitable sunlight and use the adjustable bracket to direct it. Select the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi band based on the camera’s location and the connection you want to use. This setup suits monitoring an outdoor area without routing a mains power cable to the camera.

Buyers praise the picture quality and straightforward setup, while feedback on Wi-Fi reliability and motion detection is mixed. That perspective is useful when choosing a camera for an area where a dependable connection and timely alerts are important.

Is it worth it?

A solid pick if you want a wire-free outdoor camera with a supplied solar panel, detailed 4K footage and colour night vision. Its selectable detection types and local microSD recording make it well suited to keeping an eye on everyday activity around an entrance, driveway or garden, with the app providing a practical way to manage alerts and view saved events.
