Kono 20L Travel Backpack in Grey with Padded 15.6-inch Laptop Compartment

Made from polyester, the Kono is a lightweight 20-litre daypack for short trips and everyday travel. Its main compartment opens fully to help with packing and access. A separate padded compartment is designed for a 15.6-inch laptop. The listed dimensions differ, so take care before relying on a particular cabin-bag size.

Where it shines

The wide-opening main section makes it easier to arrange clothes and reach items without digging through a narrow top opening. Interior straps help keep clothing in place, while additional pockets give smaller essentials a separate home. For a weekend away, commuting or a short business trip, the 20-litre capacity is intended for a compact load rather than a large suitcase.

The padded laptop section is useful when work equipment needs to stay apart from clothes, and the breathable back panel and adjustable shoulder straps are designed with carrying comfort in mind. Side compression straps can help keep the bag compact when it is not fully packed. It suits you if you want one backpack for a short trip that can also carry a laptop and everyday items.

Customer feedback commonly highlights the internal space, pockets and compact travel format, with some buyers saying it fits under an aeroplane seat. These are individual impressions rather than a guarantee of fit on every flight. The listing refers to Ryanair small cabin luggage, but airline allowances and conditions still apply.

The essentials

There is a measurement discrepancy in the product information: the name includes 40 × 30 × 20 cm, the feature description gives 40 × 25 × 20 cm, and the dimensions table lists 15D × 27W × 38H cm. That makes the exact size of this version unclear from the supplied details. If a specific cabin-bag allowance is central to your choice, confirm the measurements for the variant you are buying rather than relying on the different figures shown here.

The product is described as grey, polyester and lightweight, with a 20-litre storage volume. Its 180° opening, organising pockets and laptop compartment make it more structured than a basic, single-compartment daypack. By contrast, someone packing for a longer trip or carrying more than a small set of essentials may prefer a larger travel bag. The listing does not give a weight or washing instructions, so neither can be assessed here.

Usage tips

Use the interior straps to keep clothes in place and the smaller pockets for items you want to reach quickly. Keeping the laptop in its separate padded section also helps distinguish work equipment from the rest of your packing. The side compression straps are there to keep the backpack compact, avoid assuming that using them changes its stated measurements for airline purposes.

Questions before you buy

Can it carry a laptop? It has a separate padded compartment described as suitable for a 15.6-inch laptop. The supplied details do not specify the compartment’s own measurements, so fit may depend on the laptop’s dimensions.

Is it intended for short trips? Yes. The 20-litre capacity is presented for essentials on weekend getaways, business trips and commuting for one to two days.

Will it meet Ryanair’s under-seat allowance? The listing describes it as suitable for Ryanair small luggage, subject to the airline’s conditions. However, the different measurements given for this backpack leave the exact size unclear, so confirm the dimensions of your specific version before travelling.

Buying verdict

This Kono is worth considering if a compact backpack with a full-opening main compartment, multiple pockets and a padded laptop section matches how you travel. It may not suit you if you need an unambiguous cabin-bag measurement before booking: the supplied size details conflict, and the 20-litre capacity is aimed at short trips rather than extended packing.
