Gardena Liano Life 18455-20 Textile Garden Hose, 25 m, 1/2 inch

Choosing a garden hose often comes down to reach versus easy handling. A 25 m hose gives you room for short and medium watering jobs, while a flexible textile outer layer is designed to make it easier to move around the garden. The Gardena Liano Life 18455-20 pairs that sheath with a PVC inner tube. Its 1/2 inch diameter is another practical detail to consider when choosing a hose.

Highlights

The Liano Life is intended for everyday watering rather than a specialist task. Gardena describes it as flexible and resistant to kinking or twisting, which should help when guiding it around garden areas or coiling it away after use. Its textile sheath surrounds a PVC inner tube, and the listed weight is 2,836 grams. That combination may appeal if you find a more rigid hose awkward to manoeuvre.

The stated burst pressure is 22 bars. The hose is also described as resistant to frost and UV rays, as well as abrasion and dirt. These are useful details for a hose kept outdoors, but they do not remove the need to store it sensibly when it is not in use. The product listing names one 25 m Liano Life hose as included, it does not give further detail here about extra accessories.

Buyer feedback broadly highlights easy handling, flexibility and resistance to kinking, with some also finding it straightforward to coil away. Durability is less clear-cut: while some buyers say it holds up well, others report the textile outer layer splitting at a seam. Comments on water flow are mixed too, so those points are worth weighing against the convenience of a flexible textile hose.

Usage tips

For a typical watering session, the 25 m length can help you move between nearby beds or other garden areas without constantly relocating the hose. Guide it around obstacles rather than pulling it sharply, and coil it neatly after use to make storage easier. Its flexibility is a selling point compared with a more rigid hose, particularly if frequent handling matters more to you than choosing a hose on flow performance alone.

The stated weather resistance may suit outdoor storage, but the product information does not specify a maintenance routine or storage conditions. Avoid treating the burst-pressure figure as a guarantee of performance in every setup, it is a stated product specification, not a measure of flow at the tap.

Everyday use

This hose is aimed at short and medium-length watering tasks. It could be used to water garden beds and containers, moving it as needed rather than relying on a fixed watering point. Its textile construction and claimed resistance to kinking are relevant if the hose needs to be carried, redirected and put away regularly. Buyers’ comments on ease of use echo that practical appeal, although reports about flow vary and should not be read as a consistent outcome for every tap or setup.

Worth considering if a flexible, 25 m hose is a better fit for your routine than a heavier-feeling, more rigid option. Not the best choice if you need consistently strong water flow or want to avoid any uncertainty about seam durability, the available buyer feedback is mixed on both points.

Final verdict

The Gardena Liano Life 18455-20 focuses on manoeuvrability and simpler storage, with a textile sheath, PVC inner tube and stated resistance to frost and UV rays. Its intended use is clear, and the 25 m length offers a practical reach for routine garden watering. The main decision is whether that handling-focused design suits your needs better than a more rigid hose: feedback supports the convenience, but durability and water-flow comments are not uniformly positive.
