blumfeldt GDW19-Greenkeeper Automatic Irrigation System for up to 60 Plants

Vinyl tubing and a large 18 m hose give the blumfeldt GDW19-Greenkeeper room to serve a multi-plant watering setup. Its control unit lets you set the watering frequency, interval and duration, so you can tailor each cycle to your plants and keep them watered while you are away.

A 12V low-voltage pump with filter draws from a rainwater cistern, allowing the system to water without a mains water connection. It is designed to irrigate up to 60 plants.

Practical tips

Place the pump in a rainwater cistern and position the control unit on a stable, flat surface. Arrange the tubing and drippers to reach the plants you want to water, then use the control unit to choose the schedule and cycle length. Keep electrical components away from water and handle the connections carefully during installation.

For a holiday watering routine, you can set cycles to run once, twice or three times a day, with each watering lasting from 15 seconds to 10 minutes. The range of settings makes it possible to choose between brief watering and longer cycles within the same automated setup. Compared with relying on manual watering, the programmed schedule helps maintain a regular routine while you are away, compared with a basic timer, the adjustable frequency, interval and duration give you more control over when and how long the system runs.

Getting the most from it

Use the supplied drippers and diverters to distribute water across your plants, and plan the hose layout before setting the schedule. The system can serve up to 60 plants, making it suitable for a collection of pots or a larger group of flowers that would otherwise need individual attention. In a practical holiday setup, connect the pump to a rainwater cistern, place drippers at the plants and programme the watering pattern before leaving. The control unit then manages the routine according to the settings you select.

It suits you if you want scheduled watering for several plants and value control over frequency and duration, rather than relying on a single fixed watering cycle.
