SONGMICS ULPI012BH01 Small Animal Playpen, 20 Panels, Waterproof Mat, Ink Black

At 48.4 x 24.8 x 16.3 inches, this SONGMICS playpen gives guinea pigs and other small pets a defined indoor space for play and rest. Its metal panels pair with an Oxford fabric mat, whose raised edges help contain mess and protect the floor beneath the enclosure.

The 20-panel design can be assembled with a mesh roof for pets that jump, or arranged with an open top and expanded sides for a more open play area. That choice makes it easier to tailor the setup to your room and your pet’s routine.

Everyday use

Use the enclosure as a dedicated place for supervised indoor play, exercise and downtime. The included mat attaches with hooks and lifts out for cleaning, while its raised edges help keep spills and debris within the base. Doors in the panels provide access for tending to your pet and refreshing the enclosure.

If keeping a small jumper contained is the priority, assemble the panels with a roof. If you want more room to explore, leave the top open and use the panels to widen the sides. This is a flexible alternative to a fixed-layout cage: the panel arrangement can change to suit the space and the way you plan to use it. The playpen is intended for small pets and is not recommended for dogs or cats.

To care for the mat, wipe it with mild detergent and air-dry it in the shade, prompt clean-up of urine helps prevent corrosion of the metal.

What you’ll notice day to day

The flexible layout is useful when the play area needs to change: build a covered enclosure for containment, or open the top and extend the sides for more room. The removable mat also makes routine cleaning more manageable, and its raised border helps protect the floor around the pen. In buyer feedback, some appreciate the space and access through the doors, while opinions are mixed on door operation and cleaning, some also report concerns about the mat’s durability. These are useful considerations when choosing a playpen for regular use.

Buying verdict

It suits households that want to set up a defined space for small-pet play and adapt the panel arrangement to their room, rather than commit to a single fixed configuration.
