RetroAudio UD005 Bluetooth Turntable with Stereo Speakers, 3 Speeds, Light Walnut

Finished in light walnut, the RetroAudio UD005 combines an engineered wood, metal and plastic enclosure with a vintage look. Its built-in stereo speakers let you play records without setting up a separate audio system. Choose vinyl playback for a dedicated listening session or use Bluetooth input to stream music from a smartphone or tablet. The dust cover helps keep the turntable clear of dust between listening sessions.

Why it makes sense

This belt-drive turntable brings vinyl playback and everyday wireless listening together in one unit. It plays 7", 10" and 12" records at 33 1/3, 45 or 78 RPM, so you can enjoy different record sizes and speeds without choosing a single-format player. A 45 RPM adapter is included for records that require it, while the auto-stop function stops playback when the record reaches its end.

For a simple room setup, the built-in stereo speakers provide a direct way to listen to records. If you want to use a separate sound system, RCA output lets you connect external speakers or Hi-Fi equipment. Bluetooth works in the other direction: it receives audio from compatible devices such as smartphones and tablets, rather than sending turntable audio to Bluetooth headphones or speakers. AUX-in provides another way to connect an audio source.

What matters most

The three-speed selection is useful when your collection includes records that play at different rates. The turntable’s controls also make it easy to switch between physical records and streamed music, which suits a living room, bedroom or office where listening needs can change throughout the day. For example, play an album through the built-in speakers, then use Bluetooth input to stream from a phone without changing the overall setup.

Buyers often praise the sound, ease of setup and straightforward operation, including its suitability for smaller rooms. Feedback on overall functionality is mixed, so the clearest reasons to choose this model are its combination of built-in speakers, multiple playback speeds and several ways to connect audio sources.

The light walnut finish gives the player a vintage character that can sit comfortably on a shelf or side table. Its transparent dust cover protects the turntable when it is not in use, and the 45 RPM adapter supports records that need that fitting. Choose this all-in-one approach when you want speakers built in and flexible listening options, a separate turntable-and-speaker setup is a different approach for people assembling their audio components individually.

How to look after it

Keep the dust cover closed when the turntable is not playing to help prevent dust from reaching the player. When playing a 45 RPM record that requires an adapter, fit the included 45 RPM adapter before playback. For a wired connection to external speakers or Hi-Fi equipment, use the RCA output, for streaming from a phone or tablet, select the turntable’s Bluetooth input instead.

Buying verdict

It makes sense if you want a vintage-style record player that can handle three record speeds, play through built-in stereo speakers and also receive Bluetooth audio. The RetroAudio UD005 is suited to casual vinyl listening in a smaller home space, with RCA output available when you want to connect it to a separate wired audio system.
