Reese Towpower tow lock kit 7014700

Best use cases

When a towing setup needs a locking step before it’s left unattended, the Reese Towpower Tow 'N Store Lock Kit is designed to add one. Its lockable design is intended to provide extra safety, and a swivelling clip is included. That makes it relevant for someone looking for a towing-related lock kit rather than a general-purpose security accessory.

Picture preparing your equipment for a trip, attaching the clip as part of the towing setup, then locking it before you walk away. The listing describes installation as easy, but doesn’t explain the exact fitting process or what equipment the kit works with. Without having tried it, the practical buying question is whether its fit matches your particular setup.

It makes sense if you want a lockable element and the included swivelling clip suits the job. It’s not worth it if you need confirmed compatibility, detailed installation instructions or a specific level of theft protection that isn’t stated here.

Product specs

The product is identified as the Reese Towpower 7014700 Tow 'N Store Lock Kit. Its stated features are a lockable design and an included swivelling clip. The description also says it is easy to install, but gives no steps, tool requirements or time estimate, so treat that as a general claim rather than a detailed guide.

There are no dimensions, materials, lock mechanism details or supported equipment listed in the supplied information. Those omissions matter for a part that needs to fit a real towing setup: check the product’s fitment information before choosing it, rather than assuming the model number alone confirms compatibility. The extra-safety wording also doesn’t establish that the kit is theft-proof or intended for every towing application.

Where it shines

The appeal is straightforward: a lockable kit with a swivelling clip, presented as easy to install. If those are the details you need, it offers a more specific approach than buying a generic clip or relying on an unsecured connection. The clip’s swivelling design may be useful where movement around the attachment point matters, although the listing doesn’t explain its range of motion or intended position.

The trade-off is limited product detail. A buyer comparing several locking approaches may want dimensions, material information and a clear list of compatible equipment, none is provided here. Nor does the description spell out how the kit is stored or what parts, beyond the swivelling clip, are included. Check those points against your setup before deciding, especially if a mismatch would prevent installation.

Final decision

Choose this Reese Towpower kit if you’re looking for a lockable towing accessory, the swivelling clip fits your needs, and you can confirm that the product suits your equipment. Its stated purpose and basic features are clear, but the fitment details are not. If compatibility or a particular security standard is essential, look for a listing that names those details before buying, if your needs are simpler and the fit checks out, this kit’s focused feature set may be enough.
