Pieviev Double-Layer Litter Mat, 91 x 76 cm, Gray, Waterproof Honeycomb EVA

At 91 x 76 cm, this gray Pieviev litter mat gives scattered litter a broad landing area beside the litter box. Its double-layer honeycomb design helps catch loose particles as your cat steps out.

Made from soft, washable EVA, the mat is gentle on paws and can also serve as a comfortable spot for a cat to pause or rest near the box.

A waterproof, slip-resistant bottom layer helps protect floors and carpets from liquid. The design focuses on collecting litter in the mat rather than leaving it loose around the box area.

Tips for day-to-day use

Place the mat where your cat normally steps out of the litter box, with the honeycomb surface facing up. As litter drops through the openings, it gathers between the layers. To reclaim it, lift the mat and let the collected litter fall back into the box, or gently shake it to release particles. This can make routine tidying simpler than sweeping loose litter from the floor each day.

For cleaning, remove dirt from the surface and wash the mat as needed. The washable EVA material can be rinsed, and the mat can be left to dry before returning it to the litter area. If you’re choosing between a simple flat surface and a mat designed to gather litter between layers, would the easier collection routine suit your space better?

Pros

The honeycomb openings are designed to catch litter from paws and hold it between the two layers, so it can be returned to the litter box instead of swept up from the surrounding floor. That makes the mat useful for the everyday scatter that builds up around a frequently used box. Its double-layer construction also offers a practical difference from a basic single-surface mat: litter can collect inside, ready to be released by lifting or gently shaking it.

The waterproof base helps keep liquid from passing through to hardwood floors or carpets, while the washable surface makes routine clean-up straightforward. Soft EVA adds a paw-friendly feel, and the broad 91 x 76 cm format provides space for litter to land as a cat exits. The mat is described as suitable for many types of litter and for standard, hooded, and self-cleaning litter boxes.

Practical questions

How do I get the collected litter back into the box? Lift the mat so the litter falls through the honeycomb layers, then empty it into the litter box. A gentle shake can also release the collected particles.

How should I clean the mat? Remove dirt and rinse or wash the washable EVA surface as needed. It can be hosed off and left to dry before use again.

Will it work with a hooded or self-cleaning litter box? The mat is suitable for use with litter boxes including hooded and self-cleaning styles. Position it at the exit area to catch particles as your cat steps out.

Buying verdict

For a litter area that needs a more organized daily clean-up, this Pieviev mat combines a litter-catching honeycomb surface with a waterproof base and washable EVA construction. It is a practical fit beside a frequently used litter box, especially when you want to collect scattered particles for easy disposal or return them to the box.
