ONLYU compatible ink cartridges 280XXL

When a home printer is handling a mix of school documents, forms and colour images, replacing several cartridges at once can be simpler than shopping for each colour separately. This ONLYU five-pack is a compatible replacement set for selected Canon PIXMA printers, with one large black cartridge, one small black cartridge, and one each of cyan, magenta and yellow. It covers common document and colour-printing needs, but it does not include Photo Blue, so check your printer’s cartridge requirements before choosing it.

Best use cases

The set is intended for compatible Canon PIXMA models, including the TR8520, TR8620, TR8620a, TR7520, TS6120, TS6220, TS8220 and TS9520, among others listed by the manufacturer. That makes it worth considering if your printer is on the compatibility list and you want black and standard colour replacements together. The specific printer model matters: a similar-looking name is not enough to confirm compatibility, so match the full model number against the listing before ordering.

For a practical example, this pack could suit a household printing a batch of black-and-white forms one day, then colour pages for a project the next. The two black cartridges are listed as different sizes, alongside the three colour cartridges. If your printer uses Photo Blue, though, this set will not complete that particular cartridge lineup.

Product specs

The contents are one PGI-280XXL large black cartridge and four CLI-281XXL cartridges: small black, cyan, magenta and yellow. There are five cartridges in total. The product is described as compatible with the listed Canon PIXMA printers, it is not presented as a Canon-branded set.

The listing gives yields of up to 600 pages for the 280XXL large black, 6,360 pages for the 281XXL small black, and 830 pages for each 281XXL colour cartridge, based on 5% coverage on Letter/A4 paper. These figures are stated according to the manufacturer, and actual output depends on how much ink each page uses. A lightly printed page and a dense colour image won’t draw on the cartridges in the same way, so treat the listed yields as reference figures rather than a promise of a fixed number of pages.

Where it shines

The straightforward appeal is having black and the three standard colour inks in one compatible bundle, rather than sourcing each cartridge separately. That approach makes sense when all five are relevant to your printer and you’d rather keep a replacement set together. How often do you really need the Photo Blue cartridge? If your printing is mainly documents, forms and everyday colour pages, its absence may not affect your routine, for work that specifically relies on Photo Blue, it is a meaningful gap.

The listing says the cartridges are recognised by compatible printers and are easy to install, but it does not provide further detail about print performance beyond its yield and colour claims. Te conviene si your exact PIXMA model appears in the compatibility list and you need this five-cartridge mix. Better avoid it if you need Photo Blue or want a Canon-branded cartridge set instead, a different pack may better match that requirement.

Final decision

This ONLYU pack is a practical fit for owners of a specifically listed PIXMA printer who need the two black sizes plus cyan, magenta and yellow in one purchase. Its main limitation is clear: there is no Photo Blue, and the listed yield figures are based on light 5% page coverage. Check both the printer model and the cartridge colours it uses before deciding. If those details line up, the bundle offers a compatible alternative to buying the standard colours one by one, if they do not, the included cartridge mix is the wrong match, regardless of the stated page yields.
