Koackl 8101 Propane Torch Gun with Adjustable Flame for Cooking and BBQ
Product description
The Koackl 8101 is a propane torch gun made with an ABS body and an ergonomic grip for comfortable handling during cooking and outdoor tasks.
Its adjustable flame lets you tailor the heat to the job, from browning and searing food to lighting charcoal or a campfire.
Use it as a focused alternative to a standard grill lighter when you need a torch for food preparation, camping or workshop projects. The propane tank is sold separately.
Size & fit
Weighing 1.09 kg, this torch has an ergonomic design intended to support a comfortable grip while you work. Its trigger operation keeps ignition at hand, while the adjustable fuel regulator gives you control over flame size for different tasks. That range is useful when moving between delicate browning and more direct heat, rather than relying on one fixed flame for every job.
For a practical cooking setup, keep the torch within reach while preparing a steak for searing or caramelizing a dessert. Outside the kitchen, it can also help light charcoal or a campfire. The propane fuel connection makes it a torch for use with a compatible propane tank, allow one minute after connecting the tank before use, as directed.
Why it makes sense
This torch combines adjustable flame control with uses beyond food preparation. For BBQ, it can provide a direct flame for searing and lighting charcoal. For camping, it offers another way to start a campfire, while workshop use can include soldering and jewellery-making. The trigger-based operation and adjustable regulator make it easier to match the flame to the task instead of treating every job as a high-heat application.
Buyers have responded positively to the flame performance and enjoyment of using the torch, and some see it as a gift for cooking and grilling enthusiasts. Views on value are mixed, so its appeal is clearest for someone who will make use of its adjustable flame across cooking, outdoor or DIY tasks.

Practical questions
Can the flame be adjusted for different jobs? Yes. The fuel regulator adjusts the flame size, so you can choose a gentler flame for browning or a stronger one for searing and other tasks.
What fuel does the torch use, and is the tank included? It uses propane, and the propane tank is not included. Connect a compatible tank and allow one minute before use. Ensure the gas connection is properly aligned and tightened.
What should I keep in mind when using and storing it? To ignite, turn the knob between 45° and 90°, do not use the maximum-power button for ignition. Avoid continuous operation for more than 1–2 minutes to help prevent overheating. After use, detach the propane tank and store it separately.
Is it worth it?
A solid pick if you want one adjustable propane torch for kitchen finishing and outdoor fire-starting, with the added flexibility of workshop and DIY tasks. The trigger operation and flame control make it a practical tool for people who want more than a basic charcoal lighter, while its ABS construction and ergonomic grip support hands-on use across those jobs.
