HouseSapp SHF-01 Solar Hummingbird Feeder, 49 fl oz Hand-Blown Glass, 6 Ports

Practical tips

With a 49 fl oz reservoir, this hanging HouseSapp feeder gives hummingbirds a steady place to feed while adding a decorative touch to an outdoor space. Its blue, hand-blown glass makes the feeder a garden feature by day, and its solar-powered lighting adds colour after dark.

Fill it with liquid nectar and hang it from a suitable spot using the included hook. Six feeding ports and a 360-degree perch give visiting hummingbirds several places to feed and rest around the feeder.

The glass reservoir is designed for straightforward cleaning, and a brush is included to help with the task. A built-in ant moat and a cover designed to shield the nectar from sun, rain and snow add useful details for outdoor placement.

Pros

This feeder combines practical feeding space with a distinctive look. Its hand-blown glass reservoir has individual curves and patterns, while the solar-powered feature displays seven colours at night. That means the feeder can serve as both a nectar station and a decorative accent without relying solely on its appearance in daylight.

The 360-degree perch lets hummingbirds approach around the feeder, and six ports provide multiple feeding positions. For someone choosing between a simple functional feeder and a garden ornament, this design brings both purposes together. Its hanging mount suits placement where the feeder can be seen and reached for refilling and cleaning.

Worth noting

The feeder is made with a glass reservoir, a plastic cover and a metal base. Its base and waterproof ring are designed to help prevent leaking, while the cover helps protect the nectar from outdoor exposure. These features make it suited to a garden or other outdoor hanging location.

Buyers often praise the glass’s appearance in daylight and at night, and some appreciate the feeder’s capacity. Feedback is not uniformly positive: some buyers report leakage, and others say the solar panel or light did not work as expected. Those experiences are worth weighing alongside the feeder’s decorative design and feeding features.

Before you decide

What type of nectar is this feeder for? It is recommended for liquid nectar, so it is intended for hummingbird nectar rather than seed or solid food.

How does it hang? It uses a hanging mount, and a hook is listed among the included components. Choose an outdoor spot where the feeder is accessible for filling and cleaning.

What does the solar feature do? The solar-powered feeder is designed to display seven different colours at night, adding a lighted decorative element after daytime feeding.

Is it worth it?

For a garden where the feeder will be visible, the HouseSapp SHF-01 pairs a generous 49 fl oz capacity with six feeding ports, a circular perch and hand-blown glass. Its solar colour-changing display adds another reason to choose it over a plain feeder. It’s a good fit if you want a hanging hummingbird feeder that brings together nectar feeding and a colourful garden accent.
