Gouevn G02 2-Pack Soil Moisture Meter, 19.5 cm Probe, No Batteries

When watering decisions depend on what is happening below the soil surface, a meter offers a direct check instead of relying only on how dry the top looks. The Gouevn G02 set includes two soil moisture meters for checking plants in different spots.

Each meter has a 19.5 cm probe and a large, easy-to-read dial. Insert it into the soil to see the moisture reading, then water as needed.

Designed for indoor and outdoor use, the meters suit potted plants, lawns and garden beds. They require no batteries, so they are ready to use without a separate power source.

Best use cases

Use the meters when caring for several plants with different watering routines, or when a pot looks dry on top but you want to check the soil more directly. The 19.5 cm probe reaches below the surface towards the root area, which can help inform a watering decision for larger houseplants as well as smaller pots. With two meters in the pack, you can keep one near indoor plants and use the other for outdoor containers or garden soil.

This is a soil-only meter: insert the probe into soil, not water, and remove it after taking a reading rather than leaving it in the soil. Its single-probe design is intended to go in and come out easily, making it a practical alternative to judging moisture by touch alone.

What you’ll notice day to day

There is no battery setup. Insert the probe into the soil and read the dial, which uses a scale from 1 to 10, moving from dry to wet. The coloured zones help make the result easy to scan: 1–3 is dry, 4–7 is moist and 8–10 is wet. Readings give you another way to decide whether a plant needs water, rather than relying on a fixed watering schedule for every pot.

Buyers describe the meter as straightforward to use and helpful in everyday plant care. Feedback is mixed on functionality, accuracy and durability, so it is best treated as a handy moisture-checking aid rather than a substitute for each plant’s watering needs.

Before you decide

Can I use the meter to test water? No. It is designed for soil, testing water may damage the sensor. Insert it into soil for a reading and remove it afterwards.

How do I read the dial? The scale runs from 1 to 10: 1–3 indicates dry soil, 4–7 moist soil and 8–10 wet soil. Use the reading to guide your watering decision.

Does it need batteries? No. The meter works without batteries, so you can insert the probe and read the dial directly.
