Compatibility & requirements

The Captain 780 is designed for use with PC, PS4, PS5, Switch and phones, with three connection options to match the device and situation. Use 2.4 GHz USB wireless for a compatible gaming setup, Bluetooth 5.3 when wireless pairing is the preferred route, or the 3.5 mm jack for a wired connection. The headset’s wireless options let you choose a setup that fits your play space, while wired listening provides another way to connect.

The choice comes down to how you play: a wireless connection helps keep the gaming area clear of a headset cable, while a wired setup offers a direct connection when that suits your session. The rotating microphone is useful for multiplayer communication, and passive noise cancellation helps reduce surrounding sound at the earcups.

Tips for day-to-day use

For a longer gaming session, the over-ear fit and memory-foam protein-leather ear pads are designed with comfort in mind. Adjust the headband for a secure fit, then position the rotating microphone for voice chat. When you’re finished, the foldable design makes the headset easier to store between sessions. Gaming lighting brings a visual accent to a gaming setup, and button controls keep operation on the headset itself.

The stated battery life is up to 70 hours, with a two-hour charge time. Buyers speak positively about comfort and sound, while feedback is mixed on battery life and microphone quality. These are useful points to weigh alongside the connection options and over-ear design when choosing a headset for regular play.

Before you decide

Can the Captain 780 connect without a cable? Yes. It supports 2.4 GHz USB wireless and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as a wired connection through its 3.5 mm jack.

Can I use it for multiplayer chat? The headset has a rotating microphone intended for communication during gaming and streaming.

Is it easy to put away between sessions? The headset has a foldable design, making it easier to store when it is not in use.
