Fomatrade Calculator, 12-Digit LCD

For everyday sums at a desk, at a counter or while moving between work surfaces, a straightforward calculator is often more useful than a feature-heavy model. This Fomatrade set includes two calculators with large buttons, a 12-digit LCD and solar-and-battery power. The layout is aimed at routine arithmetic, with memory, percentage, square root and grand total functions included. If you split basic calculations between two work areas, having a pair may be more practical than buying a single unit, the listing does not provide dimensions, so the compact design is difficult to judge for a particular bag or desk.

Best use cases

These calculators are suited to common office and household sums: adding figures on a desk, working out a percentage, or keeping a running total while handling a series of entries. The wide, large-digit display and clearly separated keys are intended to make numbers easier to see and select. For example, you could leave one calculator beside paperwork and carry the other to another work surface, rather than moving one device back and forth.

Solar and battery power provide two ways to operate the calculators, which may be useful when lighting varies. The product description does not say what batteries are included, so factor that in if you need battery operation immediately. It also does not list advanced scientific or financial functions, for coursework or calculations that call for more than the stated standard functions, a specialist calculator would be a better fit. It suits you if you want familiar controls for everyday arithmetic and value having two units. It is not for you if you need a specified set of advanced functions or detailed size information before choosing.

Product specs

The set is described as two desktop calculators that can also be held in the hand. Each has a 12-digit LCD display, listed as 4.3 inches, plus large, spaced keys. The keys are stated to have been tested for 100,000 keystrokes, that is a durability claim from the product information, not a guarantee of performance in every setting. Standard functions include memory, percentage, square root and grand total.

The dual-power design combines solar and battery operation. There is no battery type or battery-inclusion detail in the information provided. Nor are exact overall dimensions or weight given, so “compact and lightweight” is a general description rather than enough detail to confirm how comfortably either calculator will travel in a small bag. Without having tested it, the practical distinction to weigh is the large-button, easy-to-read approach versus a smaller model that may be easier to store but less spacious to use.

Where it shines

The appeal is in its uncomplicated layout: larger keys, a broad display and a short list of everyday functions, without a learning curve suggested by extra modes. That can suit quick figures during paperwork or routine office tasks, especially if you prefer buttons you can distinguish at a glance. What matters more to you: advanced calculation options, or a simple keypad that makes ordinary sums easy to follow? This pair is clearly positioned around the latter.

The trade-off is that the listing gives little detail beyond the stated display and functions. If desk space, exact dimensions or battery requirements are deciding factors, the available information may not settle those questions. A more capable scientific calculator makes more sense for specialised work, this set is aimed at basic calculations and having a second unit available.

Final decision

Choose the Fomatrade pair if you want two no-frills calculators for routine arithmetic, appreciate large keys and a 12-digit display, and can work with the stated standard functions. The solar-and-battery setup adds flexibility, while memory, percentage, square root and grand total cover common everyday needs. Look elsewhere if you need advanced functions, a confirmed size for travel, or clear information about the batteries before buying.
