CAMPLUX Tank Top Propane Outdoor Heater, 15,000 BTU, 3 Heat Settings

For outdoor warmth around a garage, campsite, hunting spot, fishing area or patio, the CAMPLUX tank-top propane heater provides radiant heat without relying on electrical power.

Choose from three heat settings to suit changing conditions and the space around you. Its single burner directs radiant warmth where it is needed, while the tank-top design keeps the heater mounted on a propane tank.

The adjustable output, portable format and tip-over shut-off make it a practical choice for outdoor activities and work areas where flexible heat is useful.

Technical details

• Type: Single-burner tank-top propane radiant heater
• Heat settings: 9,000 BTU, 13,000 BTU and 15,000 BTU
• Stated heating area: 400 sq. ft.
• Stated run time: 29–43 hours

The three output levels let you select a lower setting for gentler warmth or increase the heat when more output is called for. Radiant heat is directed from the single burner, and the chrome emitter guard helps focus it. A metal mesh helps prevent accidental contact with the hot components, while the bracket secures the heater to the tank top.

Compatibility & requirements

This heater is designed for outdoor use and mounts on a 20 lb propane tank. It is gas-powered, so it can provide heat during a power outage. To light it, use a match or lighter through the burner’s ignition hole. After the burner lights, keep the safety shut-off valve pressed for 30 seconds, until the heater head stays lit. The product title identifies a CSA valve and regulator.

Best use cases

Set it up at an outdoor campsite, beside a fishing or hunting area, or in a backyard or patio space when portable radiant warmth is useful. It can also suit an outdoor work area such as a garage. The three settings offer more control than a fixed-output heater, making it easier to choose an appropriate heat level for the activity. Its tank-top mounting is a straightforward alternative to a freestanding heater when you want the unit attached directly to a propane tank.

The compact format and adjustable output are useful when the same heater needs to serve different outdoor routines. For example, at a campsite, a lower setting can provide gentler warmth while people gather nearby, a higher setting is available when more heat is wanted. Keep the heater outdoors during use and allow the tip-over mechanism to provide an automatic gas shut-off if the unit is knocked over.

Before you decide

What propane tank does it mount on? It is designed to attach to a 20 lb propane tank using its tank-top mount.

How do you light the burner? Use a match or lighter through the ignition hole. Once lit, hold down the safety shut-off valve for 30 seconds, until the heater head remains lit.

What happens if the heater tips over? The tip-over mechanism shuts off the gas flow, adding a safety measure during outdoor use.

Should you buy it?
