Avatar Controls BMSL18 Smart C9 Outdoor Christmas Lights, 100 RGB LEDs

For decorating an outdoor porch, roofline, fence or tree with colour that can change for different occasions, the Avatar Controls Smart C9 string combines multicolour LEDs with app and remote control. Its 100 lights and choice of dynamic effects make it easy to shape a display around a holiday, gathering or preferred look.

Choose a coordinated, changing display rather than a simple fixed-colour string. Bluetooth control lets you adjust the lights from an app, without a Wi-Fi network or smart-home hub.

At a glance

The BMSL18 is an outdoor string light set with 100 multicolour C9 LEDs. Its IP65 rating is intended for outdoor use, with suggested settings including eaves, porches, fences, trees and yards. Use the app or remote to choose colours and effects, adjust brightness and speed, or set a timer. More than 100 lighting modes, DIY colour customization, music sync and memory give you several ways to tailor the display.

The lights suit more than one seasonal setup: festive colours can define a Christmas display, while customized colours and effects can refresh the same décor for Halloween, New Year celebrations or a party. Buyers have praised the lighting quality, while feedback on reliability and colour coordination is mixed. The app’s range of controls is useful for shaping a display, and coordinated colour effects are one of the aspects some buyers have found less consistent.

How it fits

This is a practical fit for outdoor decorating where the desired look may change from one event to the next. For a steady, single-colour outline, a basic string has a simpler purpose, the Smart C9 instead offers adjustable colour, brightness, speed and effects for displays that are meant to feel more personalized. A porch can use one setting for everyday holiday lighting, then switch to a more animated effect for a gathering.

If you already use compatible Hello Fairy light sets, the app can group up to eight sets to coordinate colours, effects and schedules across areas such as a roofline, porch, fence or tree. This makes it easier to plan a connected display instead of managing each compatible set separately. Grouping applies to compatible Hello Fairy sets.

How to use it

Use Bluetooth to connect through the app, or make changes with the remote. Select a colour or effect, then adjust brightness and speed to suit the setting. Music sync lets the lights respond to sound during parties and family gatherings. For a repeatable nightly routine, set automatic on and off times, the memory function restores the previous colour and lighting effect after power is restored.

The string is designed for outdoor seasonal decorating. Choose a suitable route along the intended display area and follow the product manual when setting it up. Built-in hanging hooks support placement along common decorating areas such as eaves and porches.

When it makes sense

Choose the Smart C9 when one outdoor light set needs to serve several occasions, or when app-based adjustments are more useful than leaving a display on a single preset. The combination of multicolour LEDs, DIY customization, music sync and timer control brings variety without requiring a separate string for each theme. For a seasonal display that can shift from a calm roofline setting to a livelier party effect, its strongest advantage is the freedom to change how the lights look and when they run.
