Ameristep Throwdown blind 1MS2W111

When a full-size blind feels like more coverage than you need, a lower-profile option may be easier to work into a hunting setup. The Ameristep Throwdown Blind measures 87" long by 29" high and weighs 2.2 lbs, giving you a few concrete details to compare before choosing where it might fit. Its listed pattern is Mossy Oak Obsession. The product information doesn’t specify its width, materials or setup method, so those details are worth considering if they matter to your plans.

Key points

The dimensions describe an elongated, low-height blind rather than a tall enclosed shelter. That distinction matters: it may suit someone looking for a ground-level concealment option, while a taller blind could make more sense when you want a larger enclosed space. The listed weight is 2.2 lbs, but weight alone doesn’t tell you how compact it is to carry or how it packs away.

Mossy Oak Obsession is the named pattern, but the listing doesn’t explain its intended surroundings or how well it blends in across different terrain. Keep in mind that the 29" height and 87" length don’t tell you how much of your position the blind will cover, placement and the surrounding landscape will affect how useful that size is.

How to use it

Think about the spot you plan to use it in before deciding. For example, picture arriving at a field edge and checking whether an 87"-long, 29"-high blind can be positioned where you need it without obstructing your view or taking up too much room. That simple mental check is more useful than assuming the product will suit every hunting location.

No care or setup instructions are included in the available product details. There’s also no information about weather resistance, included accessories or how it is secured, so don’t assume those features are covered. If any of them are essential for your outing, look for those specifics before buying.

Practical tips

Compare the measurements with the space you expect to use, and consider the height alongside your preferred position and sightlines. A longer or taller alternative may suit a different setup, this model’s listed dimensions point instead to a low-height format. Its 2.2 lbs weight gives you a useful figure for comparison, but doesn’t confirm how it carries or stores.

You may be interested if you want a blind with stated dimensions and a named Mossy Oak pattern, and a compact-height format fits your plans. It may not be the best option if you need a specified width, a taller enclosure, or confirmed details about materials and weather protection. Those aren’t provided here.

In your case
