Amazon Fire TV Cube 4K Streaming Device with Wi-Fi 6E and Alexa+
Product description
Some streaming setups are built around remote-led browsing, others make voice control and switching between connected devices part of the experience. The amazon Fire TV Cube pairs hands-free Alexa with 4K streaming and Wi-Fi 6E. Want to spend less time scrolling for something to watch? Alexa+ can help you find shows using natural conversation.
How it fits
Use the Fire TV Cube to access streaming entertainment, then move between it and compatible connected devices such as a cable box, game console or webcam. Its built-in microphone and speakers let you give Alexa voice commands from across the room, including to control a compatible TV, soundbar or receiver. That makes it a practical centre for a living-room setup where you want streaming, device switching and voice control in one place.
The updated Fire TV experience has a modern interface with dedicated content categories, space to pin more favourite apps and personalized recommendations from Alexa+. Alexa+ can also help you browse Amazon Photos, manage your smart home or explore a topic. For a typical evening, you can ask for a show, open a pinned app and use voice commands to control compatible home entertainment equipment, rather than relying only on menu-by-menu browsing.
Why it’s worth it
The octa-core processor is designed for fast app starts, and Amazon describes the Cube as 2X as powerful as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Wi-Fi 6E support is a first for a streaming media player, adding a newer wireless connection option for smoother streaming. Together, these features are aimed at getting you from the home screen to your chosen content quickly.
For viewing, the Cube supports 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision and HDR, plus Dolby Atmos audio. These formats bring compatible content and equipment into the setup, so you can enjoy supported shows and films with cinematic picture and sound. Compared with a basic, remote-focused streaming setup, the Cube’s distinguishing appeal is the combination of hands-free Alexa, connected-device navigation and a more powerful processor. It’s a good fit if you want those controls alongside 4K streaming.
