AKASO action camera EK7000 Pro

For swimming, snorkelling or a day out where you want to capture the action without carrying a larger camera, the AKASO EK7000 Pro is built around compact sports-camera use.

Its headline features include 4K recording at 30 fps, electronic image stabilisation and a waterproof case rated to 131 ft. That combination makes it suited to movement and water-based outings, provided the camera is used in its case when underwater.

If you prioritise a touchscreen and included accessories, this setup is more appealing, if you prefer a camera with fully documented controls and specifications, the product details here leave some questions unanswered.

Getting the most from it

The 2-inch IPS touchscreen is intended to make changing modes, adjusting settings and reviewing footage straightforward. That is useful when you want to check a clip between activities rather than wait until you are back at a computer. The camera also records 1080p at 60 fps, giving you a second listed video format alongside 4K at 30 fps.

For a practical outing, you could mount it with the helmet accessories for a ride, then switch to the waterproof case for a swim or snorkelling session. The kit is described as including helmet accessories, but the listing does not spell out each piece, so it is difficult to judge how well the mounting options match a particular helmet or setup.

EIS is included to help steady footage, especially when recording moving subjects. It should be treated as assistance rather than a promise of perfectly smooth video in every situation. The listing also mentions 5x zoom, but does not explain how that zoom works or what image quality to expect at higher magnification.

Why it’s worth it

The appeal is the mix of action-camera essentials in one package: a rear touchscreen, EIS, a remote control, a waterproof housing and two rechargeable 1350mAh batteries. Each battery is rated for up to 140 minutes of recording, which gives you a spare to carry when a single charge may not cover an outing. Actual recording time can vary, and the listing does not provide further conditions for that figure.

The listed 20MP photo resolution also gives you the option to take stills rather than rely only on video. Without having tried it, the sensible reason to consider this model is its broad activity-focused feature set, not an assumption that it will outperform more specialised cameras. It suits you if you want one device for casual video and photos across different activities. Best to avoid it if you need detailed information about recording formats, mounting compatibility or the zoom before choosing.

At a glance

• Video: 4K at 30 fps and 1080p at 60 fps
• Photos: 20MP
• Stabilisation: Electronic image stabilisation (EIS)
• Display: 2-inch IPS touchscreen
• Waterproofing: Up to 131 ft with the waterproof case
• Power: Two rechargeable 1350mAh batteries, each rated for up to 140 minutes
• Other listed features: Remote control, 5x zoom and helmet accessories kit

One important distinction is that the underwater rating is tied to the waterproof case, rather than presented as a bare-camera rating. That makes the case essential for underwater use. The product information does not specify memory-card requirements or give a detailed accessory inventory, so those details may matter if you are planning a particular setup.

When to choose it

Choose the EK7000 Pro if you want a touchscreen action camera with listed 4K video, EIS, a waterproof case and a spare battery for active outings. It offers a more ready-to-use approach than buying a basic camera body and sourcing mounts separately, while remaining a less clearly documented choice than a setup whose exact accessories and recording details are listed upfront. It is a better fit for general adventure footage than for buyers who need certainty about every technical or mounting detail before they commit.
