Filthy Promises: Akopov Bratva Book 1 Unabridged Audiobook
Product description
At 15 hours and 30 minutes, Filthy Promises is a substantial unabridged audiobook for listeners who want a longer romance to settle into rather than a brief listen. It is Book 1 of 2 in the Akopov Bratva series, and the listed narrators are Laura Horowitz and Simon Maverick.
The book sits in the mafia romance and dark romance categories, with billionaire romance also among its listed genres. That gives a useful starting point if those are the tropes you enjoy, while the audience feedback suggests the storyline itself is more divisive than the overall appeal of the listen.
Why it’s worth it
The main draw is the combination of a full-length audio format and a Bratva romance premise. An unabridged recording keeps the complete book in audio, so it suits listeners who would rather follow a longer story than choose a condensed version. As the first book in a two-book series, it also offers a clear entry point for anyone interested in following the Akopov Bratva books in order.
Buyer feedback commonly describes the writing as engaging and the characters as well developed. Some listeners particularly enjoy the romance and the Bratva tropes, and others highlight the action and the way the story holds their attention. However, reactions to the plot are mixed: some enjoy its direction, while others find it frustrating. That split matters if you are choosing mainly for the storyline rather than the genre or character dynamics.

Getting the most from it
The length makes this a better fit for spreading across several listening sessions than for anyone seeking a quick, single-sitting story. It could suit a regular commute or downtime when you want to keep returning to the same romance, though the listing does not specify playback features or device compatibility. Compared with a shorter audiobook, this one offers more time with the book, a more concise title may suit listeners who prefer a quicker commitment.
If you prioritise character development and romance alongside the mafia setting, the positive feedback on those elements may help you decide. The emotional tone also appears to divide opinion, with some listeners enjoying the angst and others finding the drama excessive, so expectations around tone are worth considering. There is no detailed plot summary in the product information, making genre preference and the reported mixed reactions more useful decision points than assumptions about the story.
Should you buy it?
It makes sense if you want a full-length, unabridged mafia romance and are happy to start a two-book series. The feedback points to engaging writing and character development, but not to universal agreement on the plot or emotional intensity. Not the best choice if you specifically want a short listen or need a storyline that is known to suit your tastes, the supplied details do not explain the plot in enough depth to make that promise.
