## Description

## What matters most
If you’re after a compact keyboard that still packs a numeric keypad, the YUNZII C98 offers a playful cake-themed look with practical features. It supports tri-mode connectivity (Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G, and USB-C wired), allowing you to pair with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android across up to five devices. A 10000mAh battery promises longer use between charges, which matters for gaming sessions or long workdays. The goal here is a balance between cute aesthetics and usable performance, so you can type comfortably without feeling like you’re sacrificing versatility.

## What stands out
The C98 continues the “cake” styling of the C75 while adding a full 99-key layout with a dedicated numeric keypad. The gasket mount and multi-layer sound-damping design aim to reduce rattle and noise, delivering a softer, creamier keystroke. Factory-lubed creamy linear switches contribute to smooth, quiet feedback. Colorful dye-sublimated PBT MOA keycaps align with the theme, and the hardware supports easy customization via a user-friendly web-based software for remapping and macros.

## Tech specs
Key layout: 99 keys with a compact 96% footprint. Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G wireless, USB-C wired. Battery: 10000mAh. Switches: factory-lubed creamy linear switches (hot-swappable PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin). Case/color: Beige, Cake-themed aesthetic. Keycaps: dye-sub PBT MOA. Software: web-based (Windows/Mac) for key remaps and lighting. Sound design: gasket mount with multiple dampening layers and silicone padding.

## How it helps in daily use
For mixed environments—home, office, or gaming—the tri-mode setup makes it easy to switch devices without swapping keyboards. The hot-swappable PCB invites play with different switches (no soldering required), so you can tune tactility and sound to your preference. The 360° side lighting adds a soft ambient glow, useful for late-night work or gaming without harsh illumination.

## Limitations to consider
On paper, it sounds versatile, but there are factors to keep in mind: software features are web-based, which may feel less integrated than standalone apps, long sessions depend on battery health and Bluetooth stability across devices, and the “cake” aesthetic may not fit formal work environments for everyone. If you prioritize ultralight portability or a traditional numpad workflow, this might not be the first choice.

## What to check before you buy
- Confirm you’re comfortable with tri-mode connectivity and the battery life you expect for your use case.
- Consider whether you’ll enjoy the gasket-mount typing feel and the creamy linear switch texture.
- If you crave deep customization, test the web-based software for remapping and macros to ensure it meets your needs.
- Verify compatibility with your primary devices (PC, Mac, iOS, Android) and whether you’ll use the full 99-key layout daily.

## Practical usage example
Imagine settling in at your desk with the C98 in beige, typing a report while juggling multiple apps. You switch to Bluetooth to pair with a tablet for notes, then grab the keyboard for a quick gaming session on a second PC via 2.4G. The gasket-mount feel keeps keystrokes quiet enough for late-night work, and the keycaps’ color and shape make the layout instantly legible for touch typists who appreciate visual cues.

## Final verdict
Is it worth it? Worth considering if you want a cute, functional keyboard with a dedicated numeric keypad and flexible connectivity. It’s a solid pick for users who value a distinctive look, easy switchability of switches, and bidirectional device compatibility. If your priority is a minimal, traditional layout or top-tier gaming features, you might want to compare other layouts or models.

## FAQ
- Can I use it with a Mac right out of the box? Yes, it supports Mac via the web-based software and multi-device pairing.
- Do I need to solder to change switches? No. The PCB is hot-swappable for 3-pin and 5-pin switches.
- How loud is the typing? The gasket-mount and lubricated switches aim for a softer, creamier sound profile rather than sharp clicks.

## Is it worth it for you?
If you value a playful aesthetic, a compact 99-key layout with a dedicated numpad, and flexible wireless connectivity, this keyboard aligns with those intents. For users who want absolute minimal noise, a lighter travel distance, or a more traditional gaming focus, consider alternatives with different mounting, sound profiles, or form factors.
