## Description

This replacement remote keeps your VIZIO Smart TV control simple and reliable from across the room. The Universal Remote XRT260 focuses on a longer transmitting distance and straightforward operation, so you can switch apps, change channels, and control volume without fuss. It is ready to use after inserting two batteries and requires no programming, which makes setup immediate and practical for everyday use.

## Quick overview

The XRT260 is a universal IR remote built to restore full control to compatible VIZIO Smart TV series. It emphasizes an extended range for comfortable use in larger rooms and replaces original remotes that are lost or damaged. If you prioritize ease and reach, this unit keeps functions like dedicated streaming buttons for Netflix, Disney, Prime Video, and Hulu. If you prefer voice control, note that this model does not include a microphone and instead maps voice tasks to an INFO button. **XRT260** is presented as a no‑friction replacement that keeps familiar layouts and shortcuts, and it tends to feel like the original remote when handling menus and playback.

## Tech specs

- Reference: XRT260
- Type: Universal remote
- Battery: **2 x 1.5V AAA**
- Compatibility: VIZIO Smart TV models including M43Q6-J04, M50Q6-J01, M55Q6-J01, M65Q6-J09, V505-J01, V655-J04
- Additional feature: **no voice function**

## Why it’s worth it

You get practical benefits quickly. The longer signal reach, rated at **over 50 ft**, helps when seating is distant from the TV, and the direct streaming keys reduce navigation steps. Buttons are labeled in a standard layout so muscle memory carries over, and the remote is lightweight enough to use comfortably for long viewing sessions. Keep in mind manufacturer notes that batteries are not included and that advanced smart features tied to a TV account are still managed through the TV interface.

## Getting the most from it

Install two AAA cells and test button response across distances to confirm the placement that gives you the best line of sight. For rooms with multiple obstructions, try small angle adjustments toward the TV sensor. If you mostly use voice search on your TV, this remote replaces voice with INFO, so consider whether button‑based navigation meets your needs before replacing a voice remote. 😊
