VIOFO A119M Pro 4K HDR Dash Cam with STARVIS 2 IMX678, Wi-Fi 6, GPS

Practical tips

Drivers who want a straightforward record of the road can focus on video capture, those who also want night-scene processing, GPS data, and parking monitoring may value the A119M Pro’s broader feature set. It records front-facing video in 4K at 30 fps with a 130-degree field of view.

Its compact design is made for windshield mounting, including a low-profile position behind the rearview mirror. The included CPL filter helps reduce reflections and glare, supporting clearer views through the windshield.

For everyday driving, loop recording replaces older footage as the microSD card fills, while the G-sensor can lock important clips after an impact. Voice commands offer hands-free control for actions such as locking videos, taking photos, and turning on Wi-Fi.

Why it’s worth it

The STARVIS 2 sensor, 4K recording, and HDR are useful for capturing detail across changing light, from bright road scenes to tunnels and nighttime driving. Night Vision 2.0 is designed to support low-light recording, while the F1.8 aperture is another part of its image-capture setup. The included GPS module adds location, speed, and timestamp data to trips.

For parking, the camera offers event detection, low-bitrate recording, time-lapse recording, and buffered recording that saves footage from 15 seconds before an event through 30 seconds after it. A hardwire kit is not included. Wi-Fi 6 provides a way to preview and download footage through the VIOFO app on an iOS or Android phone without removing the card.

Customer feedback highlights the compact size, easy installation, and clear 4K video. Experiences are not uniform: some customers report recording or reliability problems, and others describe unstable Wi-Fi connections. The camera’s screen, voice notifications, and physical recording features also give drivers ways to interact with it beyond relying on the app.
