## Description

## How to use it

A fixed camera can miss the action when a pet wanders out of frame or a child moves across the room. This VIMTAG indoor camera can pan and tilt remotely, while motion tracking follows movement to help you keep an eye on more of the space.

Open the Canny Cam app to check the live view, move the camera, or use two-way audio. That makes it practical for a quick look at the living room while you’re away, or to speak to your dog without being in the same room.

It also offers infrared night vision for checking a dim room after bedtime. Just keep in mind that this is an app-based camera, not a dedicated monitor with its own screen.

## Pros

The 2.5K QHD view uses a 4MP sensor and includes 8x zoom. Remote pan and tilt provide 360° horizontal and 115° vertical coverage, and motion tracking is designed to follow people, pets, or other movement. In everyday use, that means you can check where a cat went after it leaves the center of the frame instead of relying on a single fixed view.

Other useful features include two-way audio, infrared night vision rated for up to 33 feet, and AI detection that distinguishes people, pets, and other motion. Sensitivity can be customized to help reduce unwanted alerts. The camera supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, works with Android and iOS through Canny Cam, and is compatible with Alexa. The app can manage up to 32 cameras and share access with family members.

For recording, you can use a microSD card or optional cloud storage. AI detection and alarm features are described as working without a monthly subscription, which may suit buyers who want alerts without committing to cloud storage. Worth considering if you want one indoor camera for checking pets, family, and general room activity from your phone.

## Spec sheet

- Type: Indoor pan-and-tilt camera
- Resolution: 2.5K QHD, 2560 x 1440 pixels
- Sensor: 4MP
- Zoom: 8x
- Coverage: 360° horizontal and 115° vertical
- Night vision: Infrared, up to 33 feet

- Wi-Fi: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
- Storage: microSD card up to 512GB or optional cloud storage
- App: Canny Cam for Android and iOS
- Compatibility: Alexa

The microSD card is not included, so local recording requires a separate card. Cloud storage is optional, and the listed 30-day free trial is a trial rather than a permanent cloud plan. From the way it is set up, the camera is most useful when you’re comfortable managing viewing, alerts, and recordings through an app.

## Should you buy it?

This model makes sense if you want a movable indoor view, phone alerts, and the ability to talk through the camera, rather than a simpler fixed camera with fewer ways to check the room. It’s not for you if you need a dedicated baby-monitor display or want local recording without buying a memory card. The rotating view and tracking add flexibility, but they don’t replace deciding where to place the camera or which events you want notifications for. If app-based access and flexible storage fit your routine, it covers several common home-monitoring jobs in one device, if you only need a stationary view, a less feature-rich camera may be enough.
