## Description

The 1/2" x 18" sanding belt gives the VERVEWAVE WT8841 a narrow working profile for detailed sanding and grinding in tight spaces. Its six-speed control lets you adjust the belt’s pace for tasks ranging from coarser material removal to finer work on wood or metal.

The sanding head rotates up to 170°, and the telescoping arm adjusts without tools to help reach different angles. It’s a cordless belt-file format made for focused work rather than covering broad, flat surfaces.

## Pros
Six variable speeds offer control for shaping wood, working on iron plates, removing rust, stripping paint from metal, and handling other detail jobs. A tool-free belt change makes it straightforward to switch belts as the task changes, five sanding belts are included with the tool.

The removable dust shroud connects to a vacuum through its vacuum interface and is designed to capture up to 98% of cutting debris when used that way. This can help keep the immediate work area cleaner during sanding. Buyers also highlight the DEWALT battery compatibility, variable-speed control, and versatility, offering useful perspective on the features they value.

## Quick overview
This cordless belt file is compatible with DEWALT 20V MAX lithium-ion batteries, including the DCB200, DCB201, DCB203, DCB204, DCB205, DCB206, DCB207, DCB208, DCB210, DCB230, and DCB240. The battery and charger are not included, so plan to use a compatible battery you already own or obtain one separately.

The kit includes the belt sander and five belts. With its 1/2" x 18" belt and adjustable sanding head, it suits spot weld removal, burr removal, rust cleaning, woodworking, and other jobs where a compact sanding area is useful. If you’re choosing between a detail belt file and a wider belt sander, this format is better suited to targeted work and harder-to-reach areas than broad surface sanding.

## How to use it
Fit a compatible DEWALT 20V MAX battery, select a speed for the material and task, and position the sanding head for the area you need to reach. For example, when cleaning rust from a metal edge or working around a weld, the adjustable arm and rotating head let you set the belt at a useful angle. Change belts without tools when you need a different belt for the next stage of work. Connect a vacuum to the shroud’s interface when you want to collect sanding debris as you work.

## When it makes sense
The WT8841 is a practical fit for DIY projects, woodworking, metal fabrication, and general maintenance that call for controlled sanding in a compact area. Its variable speeds, tool-free belt changes, and adjustable head support a range of detail tasks, while DEWALT 20V MAX battery compatibility can make it a convenient addition to a compatible battery setup. Choose it for focused sanding, grinding, and rust or paint removal where a narrow belt can reach the work more directly.
