Toodour Solar Lantern, 6 x 10 in.

Highlights

Some outdoor lights are meant to brighten a work area, these Toodour solar lanterns are better suited to adding a warm glow and a vintage look to a patio, garden, or campsite. The two lighting modes let you choose a steady warm light or a flickering flame effect, so the same lantern can feel more practical on a table or more decorative along a path.

The pair runs on solar power and is designed to switch on at night and off at dawn. The stated runtime is 8–10 hours after a full charge, though actual results depend on how much direct sunlight the panels receive.

Size & fit

Each lantern measures 6 x 10 inches and is made of ABS plastic with a bronze vintage-style finish. It can sit on a flat surface or hang from a suitable hook, which makes it easy to move between a patio table, a garden spot, and a campsite. The listing describes the lights as lightweight, but does not give a weight, so there’s no precise figure to compare if pack weight matters to you.

Keep in mind that solar charging depends on placement: a shaded area may not provide the direct sunlight needed for a full charge. The IP65 rating is intended for outdoor use, but these are still decorative lanterns rather than a substitute for dedicated task or security lighting.

Tips for day-to-day use

Place the solar panel where it can receive direct sunlight during the day, then choose the mode with the switch button. The steady setting gives a consistent warm glow, the flickering option creates a flame-like effect without using an oil flame. For a simple evening setup, hang one near a patio seating area and place the other on a table or along a garden path. Their automatic night-on and dawn-off operation means you don’t need to remember to switch them off each morning.

The product details state 8–10 hours of light when fully charged. Treat that as a listed runtime rather than a guarantee for every night: sunlight exposure affects charging, and no brightness level or battery capacity is provided on the spec sheet. There’s no wiring or additional installation tool required, but you’ll still need a suitable spot or hook if you plan to hang them.

Questions before you buy

Can you choose between different light effects? Yes. A button switches between steady warm light and a flickering flame-style mode.

Do they turn on and off automatically? The built-in light sensor is described as turning the lanterns on at night and off at dawn.

Can they be used outside? They’re listed as IP65 waterproof and intended for outdoor places such as patios, yards, gardens, and pathways. The listing does not specify how they perform in every weather condition, so avoid treating the rating as a promise that they can be submerged.

When it makes sense

A solid pick if you want two portable solar accents for relaxed evening lighting and like having both a steady glow and a decorative flicker. They’re also a practical alternative to wired outdoor lights when you want to avoid running cables. Not the best choice if your priority is illuminating steps clearly, lighting a large area, or getting dependable brightness from a location that receives little direct sun. For those needs, a purpose-built wired or higher-output light would be a more suitable approach.
