## Description

The dual-layer stainless steel mesh tray separates intact pine pellets from sawdust, making daily litter care more straightforward. Lift the tray to sift waste into the bottom pan instead of sorting through the pellets by hand.

High sides help keep litter contained during digging, while the spacious XL pan is designed with large cats in mind. The sifting tray can also be removed to create a deep pan for clumping litter.

## Compatibility & requirements
Use the dual-layer mesh configuration with pine pellets: as pellets break down, sawdust falls through into the lower pan while intact pellets remain on the tray. Lift the tray to separate the layers when it is time to remove the waste. This design gives pine-pellet users a dedicated sifting routine without requiring manual sorting.

For clumping litter, remove the mesh tray and use the box as a deep, single pan. That flexibility is useful in homes where litter preferences change or where different cats need a different setup. The high sides help contain litter during active digging, and the roomy interior is intended for large cats as well as everyday use in multi-cat homes.

## Getting the most from it
Set the box on a level spot and fit the included anti-slip pads underneath. With pine pellets, lift the mesh tray over the lower pan so the sifted sawdust can collect below, rinse the two layers during cleaning. The non-stick surface is designed to make cleanup easier, and the stainless steel components have a non-porous surface that does not absorb odors like plastic can.

If you switch to clumping litter, remove the mesh tray and use the full-depth pan instead. This lets you choose a setup around the litter already used at home rather than committing the box to one sifting method. The included scoop is ready for routine spot cleaning, while the rounded edges help make the box easier to handle when moving it for cleaning.

## Buying verdict
The Tevila XC-T972-S brings together a pellet-sifting system, a removable tray for clumping litter, and high sides in one XL litter box. It suits cat owners who want the separation method of a sifting pan but also value the option to use a deep, open pan. For large cats or vigorous diggers, its generous dimensions and elevated sides make litter containment a practical part of the setup.
