## Description

At approximately 53g, the TECKNET TK-GM012 is built for quick mouse movements, whether you’re making fine adjustments or sweeping across a mouse pad. Its optical sensor offers adjustable sensitivity, while PTFE feet help it glide smoothly and the contoured shape is designed for small to medium hands. An included anti-slip grip tape adds another way to personalize the hold.

Choose 2.4GHz wireless or USB-C wired mode for gaming, or switch to Bluetooth for everyday multitasking. That makes the mouse useful for two different needs: a responsive connection at a gaming setup and convenient switching between devices for routine work.

## What you’ll notice day to day

The lightweight design supports quick flicks and broad movements, and the ambidextrous orientation makes the mouse suitable for different hand preferences. Seven buttons provide controls for common mouse actions, while HUANO switches give each press crisp, tactile feedback. The switches are rated for up to 100 million clicks, adding a clearly stated durability specification for regular use.

Connection choice is a practical part of the experience. The 2.4GHz wireless and USB-C wired modes support polling rates up to 1000Hz, Bluetooth operates at 125Hz. You can reserve the higher-polling modes for gaming and use Bluetooth when connecting to other devices for everyday tasks. Two Bluetooth channels make it possible to switch between paired devices using the mouse’s mode controls.

## Worth noting

The built-in 500mAh rechargeable battery offers up to 90 hours of use per charge. Battery life varies with connection mode, polling rate, and usage, and the included USB-C charging cable lets you recharge or continue using the mouse in wired mode. Its matte plastic enclosure gives the mouse a straightforward finish, while the PTFE feet and included grip tape offer useful details for dialing in how it moves and feels on your setup.

TECKNET software lets you configure up to six DPI stages, choose a polling rate, and adjust sleep timing and movement wake-up settings. Software customization requires Windows and a 2.4GHz wireless or USB-C wired connection. The mouse is listed as compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android, so its three connection modes can support more than a single desktop workflow.

## Best use cases

For PC gaming, use 2.4GHz wireless or USB-C wired mode to access polling rates up to 1000Hz, then tailor the available DPI stages to the cursor response you prefer. The light build, optical tracking, tactile switches, and gliding PTFE feet suit play that moves between precise aiming and faster mouse sweeps. The included grip tape can help create a more secure feel during active use.

For everyday use across devices, Bluetooth offers a convenient alternative to keeping the mouse in its gaming connection mode. Switch between the two Bluetooth channels for multitasking, or connect by USB-C when you want to use the mouse while charging. It’s a flexible setup for someone who wants one mouse for gaming and regular computer tasks rather than separate devices for each.

## What to clarify

**Which connection should I use for gaming?** Use 2.4GHz wireless or USB-C wired mode for polling rates up to 1000Hz. Bluetooth supports 125Hz, making it the option for everyday multitasking rather than the mouse’s higher-polling gaming modes.

**Can I customize the mouse settings?** Yes. TECKNET software supports up to six DPI stages, polling-rate selection, sleep timing, and movement wake-up settings. Customization requires Windows and a 2.4GHz wireless or USB-C wired connection.

**How do I connect through Bluetooth?** Set the mouse to BT, enable Bluetooth on the device, then hold the left button, scroll wheel, and right button together for three seconds until the LED blinks blue. Select TKGM012 BT1 or BT2 on the device. Hold DPI for three seconds to switch between the two Bluetooth channels.

## Final verdict

The TECKNET TK-GM012 suits players who want a lightweight mouse with tactile switches, customizable DPI stages, and a high-polling 2.4GHz or wired gaming mode. Bluetooth channels, USB-C charging, and support for several operating systems also make it a practical choice for moving between gaming and everyday computer use.
