TaskStar 22-Inch Cordless Hedge Trimmer with Debris Remover, SK5 Blades
Product description
For homeowners and gardeners who need to shape hedges, shrubs, and yard edges, the TaskStar cordless hedge trimmer combines a 22-inch dual-action blade with a debris remover that pushes cut leaves and branches away from the cutting area. Its two included batteries are intended to support longer trimming sessions without relying on a power cord.
The 5.5-pound listed weight and pressure-sensitive switch are relevant if you expect to maneuver around hedge faces from different angles. This is a battery-powered tool for routine yard shaping, not a substitute for a pruner when the job is limited to a few individual stems.
Everyday use
The wider blade is designed to cover more hedge surface per pass, while the dual-action SK5 steel blades and stated 2/3-inch cutting capacity give a clearer sense of the branches it is intended to handle. The debris remover is a practical addition for trimming along a fence or shaping shrubs: it pushes clippings away from the cutting area, though the product details do not claim it eliminates cleanup altogether.
A pressure-sensitive safety switch supports trimming from different directions, including left, right, up, or down. The listed weight may also matter during repeated passes. For a small number of isolated branches, a hand pruner is a simpler approach, this trimmer is designed for broader, repeated cuts across hedges and bushes.
Where it shines
The included pair of 20V 4.0Ah batteries and charger are useful details for planning yard work. The stated cutting time is 100–120 minutes, and a full charge takes about 1.5 hours. Those are manufacturer-provided figures, so actual runtime may depend on the trimming conditions. A blade speed of up to 2,800 SPM and a 600W motor are also listed, but they do not replace the stated branch-capacity limit when deciding what to cut.
Customer feedback highlights the lightweight feel and battery life, including appreciation for receiving two batteries and a charger. Some buyers also describe the trimmer as good quality. Those comments offer general buying context, rather than a guarantee of performance for every yard or type of growth.

What to clarify
Does it come with batteries and a charger? Yes. The listed package includes two 20V 4.0Ah batteries and a fast charger.
How thick a branch is it intended to cut? The stated cutting capacity is 2/3 inch. For thicker growth, a tool suited to larger branches would be a better fit.
What does the debris remover do? It pushes trimmed leaves and branches away from the cutting area as you work, it is not described as a collection or disposal system.
Is it worth it?
It makes sense if you want a cordless tool for shaping hedges and shrubs, value a wider blade, and expect to use the included battery pair across a trimming session. The debris remover and adjustable cutting direction add practical details for working around different sides of a hedge. It might not be a great match if your regular jobs involve branches beyond the stated 2/3-inch capacity, choose a tool rated for thicker growth instead. For this type of use, the key decision is whether your yard work involves repeated hedge trimming or only occasional individual cuts.
