## Description

For parties, karaoke sessions, and DJ setups, the Sony ULT TOWER 5 brings powerful sound and flexible connections together in one floor-standing speaker.

Its 300W maximum output and bass-focused ULT modes help give music a more energetic presence for a gathering.

Bluetooth supports wireless playback, while XLR, RCA, USB Type-C, and microphone inputs make it practical to connect different audio sources for a hosted event.

## Practical tips

Choose a sound mode to suit the music: ULT1 emphasizes deep bass, ULT2 delivers a more powerful presentation, FLAT provides balanced sound, and LIVE adds a dynamic, concert-style character. The custom 10-band EQ lets you shape the sound further with ULT1, ULT2, or FLAT, so you can tailor playback to the room or event.

For a casual gathering, stream from a phone or tablet over Bluetooth. For karaoke or a DJ setup, use the available microphone and wired inputs to connect the relevant equipment. The front-facing ULT control makes it easy to switch modes and adjust volume at the speaker. Its illuminated control also provides visual feedback as you make changes.

## Benefits

A Bluetooth-only speaker is convenient for straightforward music playback, the ULT TOWER 5 adds wired connection options for events that involve microphones, DJ equipment, laptops, or instruments. That flexibility makes it useful when the setup may change from background music to a more hands-on party or karaoke session.

The built-in party lighting adds synchronized visual effects to living rooms, outdoor gatherings, and DJ spaces. A battery-powered design offers up to 20 hours of playback, while integrated handles make it easier to move the 28-pound speaker between party areas. IPX4 water resistance adds a practical feature for social settings where the speaker may be near splashes.

## Key features

The ULT TOWER 5 is a black, floor-standing party speaker measuring 14.1 inches wide, 21.1 inches high, and 11.1 inches deep. It supports Bluetooth, XLR, RCA, USB Type-C, and microphone connections, giving you options for wireless streaming and wired audio sources. Bluetooth range is listed at 30 meters.

Its sound options include ULT1, ULT2, FLAT, and LIVE, with a custom 10-band EQ available alongside selected modes. Other event-focused details include synchronized party lighting, a front-facing ULT button, integrated handles, and a built-in battery with up to 20 hours of playback.

## What to clarify

**Can I connect a microphone or DJ equipment?** Yes. The speaker has microphone and XLR inputs, plus RCA and USB Type-C connectivity for compatible audio sources.

**Can I adjust the sound for different music or settings?** Yes. Select ULT1, ULT2, FLAT, or LIVE, and use the custom 10-band EQ with ULT1, ULT2, or FLAT.

**Can I use it without keeping it plugged in?** It is battery powered and offers up to 20 hours of playback. Integrated handles help when moving it between locations.

## Final verdict

The Sony ULT TOWER 5 suits hosts who want a party speaker that can handle wireless music, microphone use, and wired event sources without changing to a separate speaker for each task. Its sound modes, custom EQ, lighting, and battery-powered design make it a practical centerpiece for karaoke, DJ setups, and gatherings at home or outdoors.
