SONGMICS ULTB586BZ01 13-Gallon Stainless Steel Kitchen Trash Can, Ink Black
Product description
Key features
If your kitchen needs a 13-gallon bin with hands-free access, the SONGMICS ULTB586BZ01 is designed for that routine. Its ink-black stainless steel body has a fluted front and a pedal-operated lid. Need the lid open while scraping plates or changing a liner? You can also lift it manually to 90 degrees. The lid is designed to close slowly, and the removable PP plastic inner bucket gives you a separate piece to lift out when emptying the bin or changing bags.
The rectangular bin measures 15.9 inches long, 13.2 inches wide, and 24.6 inches high. With the lid open, its height is 34.9 inches, so that measurement matters if the bin will sit beneath a counter or near an overhead shelf. It holds 13 gallons (50 L) and comes with 15 liner bags marked code K. Those included bags make it ready to use, though the listing does not specify which other liner sizes or types will fit.
Usage tips
The manufacturer recommends leaving the back of the bin at least 2 inches from the wall so the opening lid does not hit it. That clearance is worth factoring into a tight kitchen layout. The bin is intended for indoor use, care instructions call for wiping the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent if needed. The inner bucket can be removed for emptying and cleaning, while the handle on the back helps when moving the bin.
Everyday use
For meal prep or cleanup, the pedal lets you open the lid without using your hands, while the removable bucket provides an alternative to lifting a full liner directly from the outer shell. That setup may suit a household that wants a lidded kitchen bin with a more finished look than a basic plastic can. A simpler open-top bin offers faster access, while a more demanding setup may call for checking specific dimensions or liner compatibility before choosing, those details are not provided here.
Buyer feedback often appreciates the fluted appearance, everyday usability, and ease of removing bags. Opinions on the lid are mixed: some buyers describe a gentle, quiet close, while others report that the lid does not close or behaves inconsistently. Value opinions are also divided, so the design and features—not a guaranteed experience with the lid—are the clearest reasons to consider it.
What to clarify
Can the lid stay open during longer kitchen tasks? It can be lifted manually to 90 degrees, according to the product details.
What bags come in the box? The package includes 15 code K liner bags, no broader bag-compatibility information is given.
How much room does it need to open? The listed height with the lid open is 34.9 inches, and the manufacturer advises leaving at least 2 inches between the back of the bin and the wall.
Should you buy it?
It makes sense if you want a 13-gallon kitchen bin with a pedal, removable inner bucket, and stainless steel exterior, and its fluted ink-black look suits your space. The dimensions and recommended wall clearance are useful checks before settling on a spot. Better avoided if you need a particular liner fit confirmed or require certainty about lid behavior, since neither is established consistently in the available details.
