## Description

A cable running across a room needs enough reach and a route that fits your space. A gaming or home network setup also calls for a stable wired connection between devices.

The Snowkids F5486B86B-25 combines a 25 FT length with a flat, braided jacket, making it easier to route along baseboards, around door frames, or beneath carpets.

Its Cat 8 design, S/FTP shielding, and RJ45 connectors suit wired connections for compatible routers, modems, PCs, gaming systems, and other network devices.

## Worth noting

This Cat 8 cable is rated for data transfer up to 40Gbps at 2000MHz. Actual network speed depends on the connected router and devices. Its solid-copper, four-pair construction supports gigabit, 2.5G, and 10G connections, while the shielded twisted pairs are designed to help block interference from nearby power cords and electronics.

The cable has male-to-male RJ45 connectors with gold plating and is backward compatible with Cat 7, Cat 6, and Cat 5 equipment. That makes it a practical choice for connecting newer network gear while retaining compatibility with older devices that use standard RJ45 ports. The grey nylon outer jacket has a flat, braided design, with molded strain relief at the connectors. It is intended for indoor use.

Buyers often highlight its useful reach, steady connection, and performance in gaming and other wired setups. Those comments reflect individual experiences, results depend on the network equipment and connection.

## Everyday use

Use the 25 FT cable to connect a router or modem to a gaming PC, PS-5, switch, server, or compatible smart TV with an RJ45 port. Its flat shape is helpful when a cable needs to follow a wall or pass beneath a carpet, rather than sit in a more visible round run. For example, it can connect a router in one part of a room to a desktop near a gaming setup while keeping the cable routed along the edge of the space.

The choice between a flat cable and a round one often comes down to the route: this cable’s flat profile and braided jacket are suited to runs along baseboards, around corners, and through door-frame areas. Its length also gives room to position connected equipment without placing it directly beside the router.

## Usage tips

Check that both devices have standard RJ45 Ethernet ports, then connect one end to each device. For the rated network speed, the router and connected equipment also need to support the relevant speed, the cable alone does not determine the connection rate. Route it along the intended indoor path, and avoid sharp kinks to keep the cable laid flat. The manufacturer states that the cable underwent more than 15,000 bending tests and includes 24-month support.

## Questions before you buy

**Which devices can it connect?** It works with compatible routers, modems, switches, PCs, servers, Xbox systems, PS-5, and smart TVs that have standard RJ45 ports. It is also backward compatible with Cat 7, Cat 6, and Cat 5 equipment.

**What speed does it support?** The cable is rated up to 40Gbps at 2000MHz and supports gigabit, 2.5G, and 10G connections. The speed you get depends on the capabilities of your router and connected devices.

**How can the flat design help with installation?** The flat braided jacket can be routed beneath carpets and along baseboards, corners, and door frames, helping keep an indoor cable run close to the room’s edges.

## Final verdict

For a wired gaming or home network setup that needs a 25 FT reach, this Snowkids Cat 8 cable brings together RJ45 compatibility, shielding, and a flat braided profile. It is especially suited to connecting equipment across a room when routing the cable neatly along its edges is part of the plan.
