Smartivity SMRT1230 Magic Science Kit, 50+ Experiments, 58 Parts

More than 50 experiments turn science concepts into hands-on activities kids can explore at home. The Smartivity Magic Science Kit covers chemistry and physics topics through playful demonstrations rather than explanations alone.

Activities introduce chemical reactions, density, polymers, air pressure, magnetism, electricity, and optics. That range gives curious learners plenty of ways to investigate how everyday phenomena work.

The kit includes 58 parts, a step-by-step instructional manual, and a messy mat. No batteries are required, so the activities focus on experimenting and observing.

Key takeaways

This science activity kit brings together more than 50 experiments and is designed for 100+ hours of engagement. The activities explore a broad mix of science concepts, from mixing oil and water to making new colors and investigating magnets, light, and air pressure. Kids can see ideas in action and connect them with questions about the world around them.

The included manual guides children through the experiments, while the messy mat provides a designated surface for activities at home. Buyers describe the experiments as fun and educational, and some appreciate the clear instructions and ease of use. Those comments point to the kit’s appeal as a shared activity as well as a way for kids to explore independently.

Everyday use

Set up the mat on a suitable work surface, gather the kit’s parts, and use the manual to follow an experiment. The activities offer a practical change of pace from learning by reading: children can observe a demonstration, follow its steps, and see science concepts at work. With no batteries required, the focus stays on the experiments themselves.

The range of topics also makes it easy to choose an activity around a child’s curiosity. A question about color, for example, can lead into an experiment about making new colors, questions about liquids can prompt exploration of oil and water. The mat helps keep the activity area organized while kids work through the demonstrations.

Getting the most from it

Treat each experiment as a chance to ask a question before following the manual: What might happen when two materials are combined, or what could make a rocket shoot up? Let children observe each step and describe what they notice. This simple routine helps connect the activity with concepts such as chemical reactions, density, and air pressure without turning play into a lecture.

The kit suits a home activity session when a child wants to investigate rather than simply watch. Its mix of chemistry and physics topics also gives families options to return to across different play sessions. Keep the manual nearby as a guide, and use the mat as the activity’s central workspace.

Should you buy it?

Choose the Smartivity Magic Science Kit when you want a hands-on alternative to a science book or a toy centered on a single activity. Its 50+ experiments, guided instructions, 58 parts, and included messy mat bring several areas of science into one at-home activity kit. It’s a practical fit for curious kids who enjoy trying experiments, seeing what happens, and learning through play.
