## Description

The 90% UV protection helps create a more comfortable shaded area for outdoor seating, while the breathable HDPE mesh allows airflow. This black Shade&Beyond cloth measures 12' x 16' and is designed for patios, pergolas, gardens, and other outdoor spaces where direct sun is a concern.

Its grommets run along each side at 2-foot intervals, giving you multiple attachment points for a more even setup. Choose it when you want filtered shade and some airflow, a solid cover may suit a different need when an opaque barrier is the priority.

## Highlights

Made from 200GSM high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the mesh is lightweight and breathable. The 90% UV protection helps shield a seating area, plants, or a pet’s outdoor space from direct sun, while the open-weave design lets air pass through. It also provides a degree of privacy without fully blocking the view, which can be useful when covering a patio or backyard seating area.

The 12' x 16' size offers broad coverage over a pergola or other suitable structure. Grommets placed every 2 feet along each side, with double grommets at the edges, provide attachment points around the cloth. Fixing accessories are included to help secure it in place. Buyers often praise the shade, appearance, and straightforward installation, feedback on durability is mixed, with some reporting that grommets can pull away from the fabric.

## Tips for day-to-day use

Use the grommets to attach the cloth to a suitable supporting structure, distributing the attachment points around the edges rather than relying on just a few. An even setup helps spread tension across the fabric. The tie-style mounting works for shade projects such as a pergola cover, a patio screen, or a garden area that needs protection from direct sun. Choose the position based on where shade is most useful during the day and how much of the view you want to retain.

## How to use it

Lay out the cloth with the 12' x 16' dimensions oriented to suit the space, then align the grommets with the structure’s available attachment points. Secure the edges using the included fixing accessories and keep the fabric evenly supported. It can be used overhead for a shaded seating spot or as a screen beside a patio, garden, carport, or playground. For plants or a pet house, position it to provide shade where needed while preserving airflow through the mesh.

## When it makes sense

This shade cloth is a practical fit when you want to reduce direct sun exposure across a larger outdoor area without enclosing it with a solid panel. It can help define a shaded place to relax, cover a pergola, or screen a garden or greenhouse from excessive sunlight. The mesh format suits projects where airflow and a partial view matter alongside shade, its grommet layout supports attachment across the edges. Worth considering if your priority is a broad, breathable shade cover for a backyard or patio setup.
