Reliant Pet CDB-7LB Chicken Dust Bath, 7 lb Natural Mix Made in USA
Product description
Backyard flock owners need a dedicated place for chickens to dust bathe and groom. Reliant Pet CDB-7LB is a natural chicken dust bath mix made for that routine. Why use a blend designed for dust bathing? Its sand-based texture is intended to absorb moisture and help lift dirt and excess oil from feathers. Use it in a tub, dust box, or designated coop area.
Usage tips
Add the mix to a chicken dust bath tub, container, or designated area in the coop, run, or enclosure. This gives chickens a consistent spot to carry out their natural dust-bathing behavior, whether the setup is indoors or outdoors. The blend is described as suitable for year-round use, so the same bathing area can remain part of flock care across the seasons.
The 7 lb bag is described as roughly a month’s supply, depending on how many chickens you have. That estimate can help with planning a regular supply for a backyard flock. Keep the mix in the bathing area you choose, rather than treating it as ordinary coop bedding, it is formulated specifically for a dust-bath setup.
What stands out
The premium chicken sand blend has a consistent texture and is designed to absorb moisture. Its purpose is practical: give chickens a suitable material for bathing that helps remove dirt, excess oil, and moisture from their feathers. The product is also described as dust-free and non-clumping, features intended to make the bathing spot easier to maintain and avoid wet, clumped material. It is promoted for helping reduce strong odors in coops or brooders.
Buyer feedback is generally positive about hygiene, odor control, and keeping the bathing area from becoming messy or wasting straw. Some buyers have mixed views on size and durability, including reports that chickens damaged the product quickly. These experiences can vary by flock and setup, but they offer useful context when choosing a dedicated bath mix over using general-purpose coop material.
