## Description

Open-back 50 mm drivers give the PHILIPS SHP9600/MB a spacious stereo listening style for music, gaming, and voice chat. Its detachable boom mic lets you switch between listening and headset use without changing headphones. The over-ear fit, breathable cushions, and adjustable headband are designed for extended sessions. Choose it to bring listening and communication together, a closed-back design is a different approach when keeping sound contained is the priority.

## Technical overview
The SHP9600/MB uses dynamic 50 mm drivers with a stated frequency range of 6 Hz–35 kHz. Its open-back construction lets air flow through the speaker elements, supporting clear playback without echoes. That design makes it a natural fit for home listening, music work, and gaming where an open listening experience is welcome.

These are wired, over-ear headphones with a 3.5 mm audio jack and 32-ohm impedance. The detachable microphone adds a voice-chat option for gaming, calls, or work-from-home use. Remove it when you want a straightforward headphone setup for music, movies, piano, or guitar. The adjustable headband has numbered size positions, helping you set and retain a comfortable fit, while breathable ear cushions support longer listening sessions.

## Usage tips
Connect the headphones to a device with a 3.5 mm audio input. For equipment with a 6.3 mm jack, use the included 3.5 mm-to-6.3 mm adapter. Attach the boom mic when voice communication is part of the session, then detach it for music or other listening. This gives you one wired setup for switching between solo playback and gaming or calls.

For example, they can be used at a desk for a game with voice chat, then set up for listening to music or playing an instrument. The open-back design suits a setting where an open style of playback is preferred over a more sound-contained listening setup. Buyer feedback on sound is mixed: some praise the audio, while others describe the bass as muddy. Feedback also varies on microphone operation and cable reliability, so these reports are best understood as individual customer experiences.

## What you get
The package includes the SHP9600/MB headphones, a cable, and a 6.3 mm adapter. The detachable microphone is part of the headset setup, so you can attach it for calls and gaming or remove it when you want headphones without a boom mic.

## Is it worth it?
Worth considering if you want one wired, over-ear pair for both music listening and voice communication. The detachable mic provides the practical switch between those tasks, while the 50 mm open-back drivers, adjustable headband, and breathable cushions support a listening setup suited to home, gaming, and music use. If your priority is combining everyday playback with a microphone you can take off when it is not needed, the SHP9600/MB brings those functions into one adaptable headset.
