## Description

Need a front door lock that offers more than key entry? The Philips DDL240X-1HW-L combines a deadbolt with two lever handles and four ways to unlock. Use a fingerprint, PIN, key, or the Philips app. Built-in Wi-Fi also lets you manage access remotely.

## Key points

This lock set brings several entry methods together, so household members can choose what works for them. Fingerprint access is useful when you arrive with your hands full, while a PIN offers a key-free option for regular visitors or family. Key and app access provide alternatives when you prefer them. The backlit touchscreen makes the keypad usable at the door in low light.

With built-in Wi-Fi, the lock connects directly to a 2.4 GHz network without a separate hub. From the Philips app, you can lock or unlock remotely, check door status, view access history, receive notifications, and manage permissions. Alexa and Google Assistant voice control add another way to interact with the lock, including when your hands are occupied.

Auto-lock is designed to secure the deadbolt after the door is closed. The lock has no door-closed sensor, so make sure the door is fully shut for the bolt to engage correctly. Buyers praise fingerprint access, Wi-Fi setup without extra hardware, and the ease of managing PIN codes, feedback on auto-lock is mixed, and some report that battery life can be short. These experiences are useful context when choosing among app-connected locks and simpler keypad-only options.

## Practical tips

The set includes two lever handles, mounting screws and installation hardware, a user manual, and eight AA batteries. When planning the upgrade, consider both the lock and handles as part of the front-door change. Connect the lock to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to use app-based remote control, notifications, and access management. For auto-lock, confirm the door is fully closed before relying on the deadbolt to engage.

## Who it’s for

This set suits households that want several entry choices in one front-door lock, especially when family members prefer different ways to get inside. Fingerprint and PIN access reduce reliance on carrying a key, while app controls help with remote access and managing permissions for family or guests. It’s also a practical fit for people who want a deadbolt and matching lever handles together rather than replacing the lock alone. The included voice-assistant controls can suit users who already use Alexa or Google Assistant at home.

## Should you buy it?

Choose the Philips DDL240X-1HW-L if you want a Wi-Fi-connected deadbolt set with fingerprint, PIN, key, and app entry, plus remote controls and two lever handles. Its range of access methods serves a busy household better than a lock centered on a single keypad or key, while the built-in Wi-Fi supports remote management without an added hub. For a front-door upgrade that combines flexible entry with app-based access oversight, this set brings the core features together in one installation.
