## Description

Give an indoor cat a dedicated place to scratch beside a sofa, on the floor, or on a wall-mounted surface. The Petinstinct M mat uses natural sisal, offering a textured spot for scratching, stretching, and play while helping redirect claws from household furniture.

Would a flat scratching surface suit your cat’s favorite spot better than a traditional upright scratching board? This mat can be placed flat or attached to furniture, so you can position it where your cat already spends time.

The 23.6 x 15.7-inch mat is made from tightly woven sisal fibers. Its flexible placement and straightforward cleanup make it a practical addition to an indoor cat’s everyday space.

## Practical tips

Place the mat on the floor to create a dedicated scratching area, or use the self-adhesive hook-and-loop strips on the back to attach it to a wall, sofa, bed, or other furniture. Choose a spot that fits your cat’s routine and keeps the textured surface accessible for scratching and stretching. Compared with choosing a standalone upright post, this flat mat offers a way to add a scratch surface directly to a floor area or furniture, it suits homes where that placement is useful.

For routine care, shake off loose dust, wipe the surface with a damp cloth, or vacuum away hair and debris. This simple upkeep helps keep the scratching area tidy as part of your regular home cleaning.

## Strengths

Natural sisal gives cats a rough, tactile surface for everyday clawing and interactive play. The mat’s woven construction is designed to stand up to regular scratching while helping limit fraying and loose fibers. As a result, it offers a defined place for cats to engage their natural scratching behavior, while serving as a furniture-protection layer in the area where it is placed.

The flexible setup is another practical advantage: use it flat on the floor or attach it to a suitable vertical or furniture surface. That makes it easier to create a scratching spot in a location that works with your room layout, rather than relying only on a separate freestanding scratcher. The sisal texture also adds tactile interest for cats as they paw, stretch, and play.

Buyer feedback is varied on whether individual cats take to the mat, and opinions on the adhesive strength differ. Some buyers say their cats use it and appreciate its function as a floor mat, others report that their cats do not use it. These experiences reflect different cats and setups, so placement can be part of finding a useful spot for the scratching surface.
