## Description

For students, office workers, and anyone who takes frequent handwritten notes, the Pentel EnerGel RTX is built around a retractable gel pen format and a medium 0.7mm point.

Its main appeal is the combination of smooth liquid-gel writing and ink described as fast-drying. The latex-free grip and metal tip add practical details for everyday use.

Picture jotting down class notes or marking up a printed page, then clicking the pen closed before setting it down. Does a smoother-feeling gel pen matter more to you than the simpler feel of a basic ballpoint?

## Size & fit

The 0.7mm point is labeled medium, making this a familiar option for regular handwriting rather than a fine-point format. The retractable design means there is no separate cap to keep track of, while the latex-free grip is intended to support comfort and control during longer writing sessions. There are no overall pen dimensions or grip measurements in the supplied details, so shoppers who need a particular physical fit will have less to go on.

## Pros

The product’s central benefit is its liquid-gel ink, which is described as writing smoothly and drying quickly. That fast-drying focus may be especially useful for left-handed writers who often drag a hand across fresh notes. The description also presents the ink as less prone to smears, smudges, or globs, though that is a product claim rather than a guarantee for every paper or writing style.

A metal tip, metal accents on the barrel, and a latex-free grip give the pen a more finished look than a basic disposable stick pen. The assorted-ink, eight-pack format also gives you multiple pens, although the supplied details do not identify the specific ink colors.

It’s a great fit if you want a retractable gel pen for routine notes and prefer a medium point with a comfortable grip. It’s not for you if you need a fine line, a named set of ink colors, or a clearly stated pen size before buying.

## Spec sheet

- Type: Retractable liquid gel pen
- Size: 0.7mm medium line
- Format: Eight-pack, assorted ink
- Tip: Metal
- Grip: Latex-free
- Barrel: Sleek design with metal accents

## Final verdict

Choose the EnerGel RTX if your priority is a smooth gel-writing feel in a convenient click pen, especially for note-taking where quick-drying ink is welcome. Compared with a basic ballpoint, this set puts more emphasis on gel flow and a cushioned grip, that’s a useful trade if those details shape your writing experience.

The main buying uncertainty is color selection: the details on the spec sheet say assorted ink but do not list the colors, which makes the pack harder to plan around for organized color coding. If you need an exact palette or a very specific line width, a pen set that states those details would be a safer match. Otherwise, the stated 0.7mm point and retractable format make this a straightforward everyday writing set.
