## Description

For students, planners, and anyone who likes to separate notes by color, this Pentel EnerGel set offers 20 pens with assorted ink colors and medium 0.7 mm lines. The liquid gel ink is described as fast-drying, which may be useful when you’re filling a page quickly or writing with your left hand. A sleek barrel with metal accents gives the pens a more polished look than a basic everyday stick pen. The trade-off is that the listing doesn’t identify the individual ink colors or provide refill details, so this set is better suited to choosing variety over a precisely specified palette.

## How to use it

Use the assorted colors to mark up class notes, distinguish tasks in a planner, or add colored labels to a handwritten list. In practice, you could keep one color for dates and another for action items, then switch pens as you move down the page. The medium line is intended for regular writing rather than tiny annotations, so think everyday notes and color-coding, not the finest lettering. If you’re left-handed, quick-drying ink is a particularly relevant feature: it aims to reduce the chance of dragging a fresh line across the page. Does the smoother-writing claim mean it will suit every hand and paper? Not necessarily, the product information doesn’t name the paper used beyond standard writing paper.

It’s a great fit if you want a ready-made mix of ink colors for notes, lists, or schoolwork, and prefer a gel pen with a more finished-looking barrel. Better avoided if you need a specific set of named colors, a fine line for compact writing, or confirmed information about refills. The product description says a portion of proceeds supports True Colors United, but doesn’t state the amount.

## Pros

- Twenty pens with assorted ink colors make color-coding easy without assembling a set one pen at a time.
- The 0.7 mm medium line suits general handwriting and everyday notes.
- Fast-drying liquid gel ink is intended to help limit smears, including for left-handed writers.
- Metal accents and a sleek barrel offer a more polished appearance than a basic plastic pen.

One qualification: the smoothness comparison comes from internal testing cited by the maker, not an independent comparison. And while the ink is described as fast-drying, no drying time is provided, so paper and writing habits may still matter.

## Spec sheet

- Name: Pentel EnerGel RTX True Colors United
- Type: Liquid gel pens
- Format: Pack of 20
- Size: 0.7 mm medium line
- Color: 20 assorted ink colors

## Final verdict

Choose this set if having a range of gel-ink colors matters more than selecting each shade individually, and you want medium-line pens for routine writing. The fast-drying ink claim and left-handed emphasis make it worth considering for quick notes, while the metal accents give the barrels a tidier, more professional appearance. Skip it if your priority is a fine point, a named color assortment, or clear refill information, those details aren’t supplied here. It’s a focused buy for color-coded handwriting, not a fully specified pen system.
