Pacific Mailer PM2987 2-Inch Tape Dispenser with Side Loading and Tension Control

How to use it

Seal cartons for a move, prepare outgoing orders, or handle routine packing at an office with the Pacific Mailer PM2987. This manual dispenser includes a roll of 2-inch carton packing tape, so the tape and dispenser are paired for packing tasks.

Load or replace the roll through the side-loading mechanism, then pull tape across the box seam and use the built-in blade to cut it. Keeping a hand dispenser at a packing station puts the tape, tension adjustment, and cutter together, rather than requiring a separate cutting tool for each carton.

Use the adjustable brake and tension knob to set how freely the tape feeds and how much tension you prefer while sealing. The ergonomic grip is designed for comfortable handling across warehouse, office, moving, and household packing work. Keep fingers clear of the sharp cutting blade when dispensing and cutting tape.

Pros

The side-loading design makes roll changes straightforward: the dispenser opens from the side, so you can replace tape without taking the tool apart. That is useful when a packing area is shared or when a roll runs out in the middle of preparing a shipment.

Tension control gives you a way to adjust the tape feed to your preferred handling, while the integrated blade makes a separate cutter unnecessary for routine sealing. The metal construction and 1.4-pound weight provide a substantial handheld tool for repeated carton work, and the grip is shaped for comfort during use. For occasional home packing, the included roll helps get a job started, for ongoing shipping, the adjustable feed and quick-loading format suit a dedicated packing station.

Buyers describe the dispenser’s build and quality favorably overall, while feedback on ease of use and durability is mixed. Some also report that tape can stick or slide out during use. The adjustable tension and brake provide practical controls for managing tape feed, and the side-loading design simplifies access when replacing a roll.

Compared with tearing tape directly from a roll or reaching for separate scissors, this dispenser combines feeding and cutting in one handheld tool. That integrated approach is especially useful when sealing several cartons or keeping packing supplies organized in one place.

Is it worth it?

The PM2987 brings together a metal body, side-loading roll changes, adjustable tape tension, and a built-in cutter in a manual dispenser made for carton sealing. It makes sense if you regularly pack boxes for shipping, a move, or workplace inventory and want a dedicated tool that keeps tape handling in one hand. The included 2-inch tape roll adds a practical starting point, while the controls let you tailor the feed to your packing routine.
