## Description

## What it is
OFF! Backyard Citronella Scented Candles are an outdoor centerpiece set designed to add a warm glow to patios, decks, and outdoor tables while aiming to reduce mosquitoes in the area. This pack includes two 8 oz candles, making it handy for larger gatherings or alternating placements around a space.

## Why it matters
If you spend evenings outdoors and want a simple way to set the mood, these candles offer a soft ambiance with a functional edge: citronella has long been used as a repellent in outdoor settings. The two-pack format gives you flexibility for different seating areas or a longer visible display on longer occasions.

## What to know before you buy
- Burn time: up to 25 hours per candle, which supports extended outdoor use without frequent replacements.
- Size and placement: 8 oz jars are suitable for tabletops, patios, or deck railings, consider wind and spacing to maximize scent and flame safety.
- Scent profile: citronella provides a familiar outdoor aroma that complements warm evenings but may not be for everyone if you prefer a fragrance-free or different scent.

## Who it’s for
This set is a good match for homeowners hosting outdoor dinners, backyard gatherings, or casual lounging spaces who want a soft glow and a citronella touch to help deter mosquitoes a bit. It’s especially convenient for larger patios or multiple-use areas where one candle might not cover the space.

## What it isn’t or where it may fall short
- Effectiveness varies with wind and ambient conditions, a candle alone won’t make mosquitoes disappear.
- If you’re sensitive to scents or don’t like citronella, this may be less appealing.
- The 25-hour burn time is decent for evenings but may require planning for longer events.

## Practical usage tips
Place candles at evenly spaced points along the table or seating area to create a balanced glow. Protect the flame in windy spots with a stable holder or windbreak, and avoid placing them too close to fabrics or greenery.

## How it compares to other options
If you want an ambiance-focused option with a light mosquito-repellent element, this pair-up fits mid-range decor candles rather than a heavy-duty bug-control solution. For stronger repellent performance, you’d typically look at dedicated outdoor repellents or larger outdoor lanterns, but those may not deliver the same table-side ambiance.

## What to check before buying
Ensure you have a safe, stable surface for the candles, away from edges and flammable materials. Consider the typical outdoor wind patterns in your space and whether you’ll need additional repellents for mosquitoes.

## Final decision
### Is it worth it?
Worth considering if you want a simple, aesthetic centerpiece that adds a touch of ambiance while providing basic citronella repellent benefits for casual outdoor moments. It’s a practical pick for moderate use and small-to-medium gatherings, if you need stronger mosquito control or a zero-scent option, you might want to explore other formats or scents.
