## Description

A pair of outdoor cameras can help cover separate areas, such as a driveway and a side entrance, without running camera power cables to each location. The Oculview DL201 uses solar power and connects over Wi-Fi for app-based viewing and alerts.

Its 2K video, rotating 360° view, color night vision, and two-way audio are geared toward checking activity and communicating from a smartphone. The set includes two cameras.

That makes it a different fit from a basic fixed camera aimed at one doorway. If you need coverage in more than one place, the two-camera setup may be useful, a wired system may be a better match when Wi-Fi isn’t available at the camera locations.

## Practical tips

Plan around the network requirement before choosing installation spots. The cameras require a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection for setup and operation and do not support 5GHz-only networks. The product information also says they are not standalone recorders, so a Wi-Fi connection is necessary for live streaming and alerts.

For a typical setup, mount a camera where its view can cover the area you want to monitor, then use the Ubox app for pairing and control. Solar power can reduce the need to run power wiring, but the available information does not establish a specific battery runtime for every location or level of sunlight. Consider how much sun each panel’s placement will receive.

## Strengths

The combination of 2K resolution and a rotating view offers more flexibility than a fixed-angle camera when you want to check different parts of an outdoor area. Color night vision is listed, along with a night vision range of 49 feet. Two-way audio lets you speak through the camera using the app, while motion alerts can notify you about detected activity.

Buyer feedback is positive about video clarity, night viewing, setup, and solar charging. Reports about Wi-Fi reliability and motion detection are mixed, however, so those experiences aren’t consistent for every customer. The product information says there is no automatic motion tracking, the camera’s PTZ movement and motion detection should not be taken to mean that it follows a moving person automatically.

## When it makes sense

Worth considering if you want two app-connected outdoor cameras, solar power, and a view that can rotate rather than staying fixed in one direction. The IP65 rating and wall-mount design are relevant for outdoor installation, while the app provides a way to view the cameras and receive alerts remotely.

It may not suit you if your available network is 5GHz-only, or if you need cameras that record without Wi-Fi. Also, choose a different setup if automatic motion tracking is essential: that feature is specifically not included. For someone with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and separate areas to monitor, the DL201’s two-camera format and solar power address practical installation needs without requiring a fixed wired connection at each camera.
